What is Normal ?

When I back up my front suspension extends out, (jacks) is this normal? Cut and turn 4 inch wider, 14 inch coil overs, 37 inch tires. It also feels like suspension extends some in corners. This is my 1st bronco, I never even drove it much when it was stock. Is this normal ? Or is some thing off ? Only thing I can think of is maybe I am toed out too much ?

If you back up and the shocks extend out front gets taller you have a toe issue. Sounds like toed out too much. But usually toed out wont allow to walk up around turns it will suck it down while in any forward motion and push up in reverse motion. Do you have an aftermarket steering or stock stuff? If stock it may be flexing the tie rod causing a toe change do to loading outside turn as you steer. I typically set my toe 1/16" -1/8" toed in on my stuff, customers stuff, and our race stuff toed out usually makes it a handful in the dirt.

My steering is a single swinger with heavy wall inch and quarter DOM tube tie rods, I am most likely toe out too much, I will back off some but I can live with the jacking in reverse but not a understeer in the dirt. While you are at it, how long does it take for new Q80's to settle in, and how much will they settle in ? My ride height is lower in the front then in the rear, I have apx 2.5 to 3 inches of thread showing above the adjustment collar on the coil over so there is alot of room to adjust, also the toe problem could be pushing front down. Truck has never been off road yet so the suspension has never cycled with a load on it.

I set my toe in about an 1/8"-1/4 roughly. Will squat the front when reversing on pavement.
