Does anyone know how deep the exhaust manifold bolt holes are in 1996 351 heads? The Bassani headers will be going on soon and I'm going to use Stage 8 locking bolts. Stage 8 says to use 3/4" long bolts, even though the header flanges are 3/8" thick plus the gasket.

Less than 3/8" of threads in the head doesn't sound too cool to me.....anybody know?

ok so in my 95 F150 (which has the same roller 5.8 as your bronco) the header bolt depth is 13/16" - I pulled some header bolts which look normal length to me had a total thread length of 3/4". So if you could find 1" long header bolts you would get just a tad more length-- that would still put the bolt into the head 5/8" vs. 3/8" -- lets face it a little length is a good thing I just bought a set of the Bassani headers today as well - mine are for a Lightning 5.8 but I am guessing the flanges are the same.

Bumping an old thread. Anyone have any input or experience with the 1" bolts mentioned above? Looking at hardware for my JBAs.
