So, now!
I just got my Deaver Q80s mounted, along with my shackle drop brackets and extended shackles AND I even built my own under bed shock towers to fit my 14.3“ stroke Bilstein 5100s... I'll tell ya more about those once I use them.
ANYWAY! I got my stock axle stuffed back in there took some measurements. Currently, with no blocks or shims, my pinion angle is 20°. I have a pair of 8°ish shims, which will set me at 12°, but I am lead to understand that's still not ideal.
In other news, I have another ferd 8.8 limited slip axle that I'll be building, cutting, grinding, welding and painting. I'll be angling that at about 2° and adding an antiwrap bar. I would like to not do all of that work on my current axle, since it won't be permanently installed,but if I have to...
Anyway, I value your expertise. I'm not the expert here, I'm just redneck who happens to guess right alot!

What I have learned is:
get the rear end set in and get it at ride height. Set the pinion angle 2degrees off from the driveshaft angle Under acceleration, the reared will slightly rotate upwards which will almost make it completely in line with the driveshaft. This is what I have been told from most fabricators who set up leaf spring rears. you might have to cut off the spring perches and weld new ones on. I don't like the idea of running those shims

I agree with deslboy. I set mine at 1.5* but I'm running a 2 link. I have zero driveshaft vibration.
