Does anyone know the shock lengths for this kit. I am looking for the front lengths.

If you plan on using it off-road I recommend cycling the front end yourself to make sure you get the most out of the front end and so you don't destroy the shocks or anything else. You would need to cycle it for bump stops and limit straps anyway.

I was going to do that But Dont have time to Bolt the kit on and Cycle it before the swapmeet this sunday.

I'm bringing some Bilsteins to sell there for that kit, so bring your tape and you can get all the measurements you want.

I measured the Rancho 9000s I have that I run with a 4'' lift.
Front of coil, colapsed 14.5 in -- extended 22.25 in

Rear of coil, 12.5 and 18.5

Matt, Ranchos website has catalogs that give you extended and compressed lenghts for the shocks used with their lift.. check their and you should be in good shape!

For Bilstein use....BE5-6243-H5. These are 19.3 Extended and 12.1 Collapsed, measured from the center of the eye to the base of the stem. With this shock, you can pull off the up travel limiters supplied in with the Rancho kit and gain a couple inches more up travel.

Do you have a part number and lengths for the shock behind the coil-bucket?

Sorry........the BE5-6243-H5 is the shock behind the coil bucket. The shock in front of the bucket is a BE5-6238-H6 and have the dimesnions of; 21.5" Extended and 13.26 collapsed.

I run the Bilstein F4BE56238H6 on my daily driver stock height. (Front of beam) It comes within a few millimeters of bottoming. Make sure if you run them with the boots to pull the boot way down on the body, or take them off. The boot gets bunched up and will wipe out the seal if you bottom it a lot. Also the valving on these front shocks is very light. They must have a lot of bleed or something. Looking for a better option currently. I wont buy another set of that model. (good quality shock just not right valving)

The BE5-6238-H6....(or the earlier H5 version), has very little valving in it. The valving numbers are 84/30. We designed this valving to compliment the main damper.....BE5-6243-H5, which is valved to 389/94. Basically, the auxillery will provide extra high speed control when using Bilstein BE5-6243-H5 in off-road situations. And at the same time, not effect the street ride. As you can see by the valving figures, the 6238 is useless without it's counter part.....BE5-6243-H5.

Thank you for the info minihorns. I didnt think the 5100 would fit without bottoming in radius arm location without bumpstop addition, so I kept the 'other' stock length I had in there. Makes sense that the rear shock would have to be firm enough to work in a single shock application. I was just hoping the auxiliary was going to do more for me than it did. I will consider purchasing the radius arm mount ones now that you have enlightened me. That is pretty aggressive valving on that rear one it must put off some heat.

i think i have settled on bilstein 5150's for my truck. for what we have here in florida, i doubt i would ever need anything else. but i just wanted to make sure i order the correct ones. looking at the lengths of the rancho shocks i have now, it looks like i need the bilsteins with 6" travel up front with the stem adapter and the 8" travel in the rear. just wanted to verify with you guys that those are the correct ones, thanks!

I have the 5100s if you want those part numbers I can get them.

for some reason rancho uses shorter rear shocks than everyone else in the rear for a 4" lift. after looking at everyone else shock lengths, it looks like the 10" 5150 shocks would be the best be.

my go moderately quick transformation has begone! just snagged some new bilstein 5100s for the front off ebay. next is going to be some 10" 5150s for the rear.
