Correct me if I'm wrong but those look like energy suspension bushings.

Re: cutting and turning
yep energy's.
I won't take offense to criticism lol or else I would have never posted anything.
everything looks uglier than it really is, it's all welded solid. DC arc welder. After I finish and get them back on the truck I intend on jumping it a couple times before I go on any public streets above 35mph lol
hoping to have it back together this weekend.

I am going to say this. Maybe you should reconsider putting those back on. That looks like a hazard more than anything....

Re: cutting and turning
Put down the welder and get on the phone with your life insurance company. Just because you own a welder doesnt mean you know how to use it. I cant see in any of those pictures where you cleaned the metal. No signs of it after welding too. You cant just booger weld over rust. Honestly you just ruined a good set of beams. Leave it to the pro's, a good set of beams isnt going to compair to the lawsuit or medical bills your about to have coming your way.

Re: cutting and turning
Why's the back tire on a log in the first pic? Checking for frame flex? It couldn't hurt to reinforce that too.

Re: cutting and turning
This is fox 12 news from Portland, tragedy strikes today in a horrible multi car pile up. Whitness's said a white ford truck lost both front wheels, one headed northbound one headed southbound causing drivers to take evacive action Luckily no one was hurt except the driver who was treated at the scene and then taken into custody on charges of faulty fabrication and suspicion of being intoxicated. When the man was interviewed he said " I was on my way to air this bitch out and get some video for the guys on a web site called gofastbroncos.com" all I can say is hope he has insurance ...Kimberly, back to you.

Re: cutting and turning
my thought is it was a current board member who set up a second screen name to see if they could stir the pot a bit.
I just wasn't sure if I was thinking it was a member in good standing or another one stirring up crap for no real good reason.

Re: cutting and turning
I think he's just a misguided soul.
The easy way would have been to leave the TTB completely assembled, cut the lower ball joint out of the beam ends, move them out, weld back in with camber corrected, plate in holes. THEN, air that bitch out.
But, since its all back together, air that bitch out. When it breaks, re-do following the above instructions.

Re: cutting and turning
oh, I've been trolling you guys fer awhile
trust me, the stock radius arm mounts will break before my welds.
I didn't show it but the "gap" on the pass. beam was filled with a plate then another plate on top on all sides
I knew about the lower ball joint cut, it looked unsafe to me.
After more research I wish I had gone that way.
Tonight I braced it a little more and bolted on the differential. I should finish it tomorrow except I might have to clearance for the dana 50 stub.
I only have $35 into the C/T, that's including the bushings

It sure as heck does mean you know how to use it. It's got an easy to understand on/off switch and a power and ground lead... strike an ark and if it sounds like bacon sizzling you're doing it wrong
Ark welders can weld onto rust without cleaning... I just know I suck at stick welding and my wire welding skills are good enough for bumpers and seat frames but that's about it. I'd be very afraid to air out those beams... if you do decide to do it though, make sure you get your buddies to film it from as many angles as possible.

This is going too be fun. Crash boom bang. Bro that was sick as hell did you see how high the back got when the front dug in the dirt. I think you need too call some fab shops that know what they are doing. I'm just saying.
