I wanted to use cardboard and aluminum foil but I couldn't find enough zip ties to keep it all together.

on a serious note, how many of you have actually hit your skid plate before? I'd poop a brick if I ever hit mine at speed. Mine didn't seem to touch anywhere in the Notches at TDS over the weekend.

Well ,when you've had a few down in Baja and you find a junk car in the middle of nowhere and decide it's a good idea to monster truck it, good bumpers/skid plates can make the differance between driving and walking back to camp.

It was entertaining that was for sure! We'd bump a bit at stop lights, etc. and people's jaws would drop & they'd just stare!

Trucks mainly used were my '91 Exploder & his '85 toyo

Sadly, this is about the best/only pic I have of his toyota. It was a pretty decent little truck

We used to play bumper tag a lot when we all had Toyota's. Coming back from Ocotillio on time we stooped at Henshaw for some food. I came in and punted My buddies truck as he was walking away. It popped it out of gear and since there was no E-brake it started rolling across the parking lot. Took him a while to catch up and get the door unlocked. Made it all the way into the field next door. He didn't think it was nearly as funny as the rest of us.

BTW, that truck had a 1/4" 7075 skid plate. It wouldn't bend in the 60 ton press, so I had to cut it and weld it to get the shape I needed. Managed to bow that one in about 2" from a nose dive off devils slide. Almost went over, truck stood on it's nose for a good 5 seconds before the rear decided to come back down.

In high school we would bumper tag on the way to lunch. 3 of us had fullsizes and 1 ranger. I pushed the ranger into an intersection at a red light with my f150 once and thought it was hilarious. That buddy is now a cop and due to our shenanigans in HS he let alot of stuff slide with the new generation.
