How to mount bead locks

I got the idea from a old bead breaker on a Coats 2020 tire machine.

Bead locks are easy... Why not just buy a bead breaking hammer?

For me, I don't do it that often and I was just using what I had sitting around the garage. One of these days, it I come across a good deal on one of the old Coats 2020 tire machine's or one of the others like that, that can handle big tires, I will be set with the power bead breaker on the machine.

If I am not mistaken, those are what they use to separate semi truck rims. I use to drive the youth bus for my church and the Guy's at Parkhouse put tires on our bus. It was interesting to see how the came apart.

Semi truck tires / anything .5 in size don't have a bead ring, so you don't need to pop the bead to change.

Worth mentioning is most people replace all of the bolts on the wheel every time a tire is changed to lessen the chance of broken bolts.

I use those tools to change semi/tractor tires but have also used them on a car wheels. Wouldn't suggest it on pretty aluminum wheels but they work great. Whenever someone has big 24 dub wheels reverse mount I use them too.

I use my hi lift to break beads all of the time. Some wheels, like the inner bead of my walkers, require the me to use the back bumper of my motorhome for weight with the hi lift. But 90% can be done with a normal truck.

No it's a pulling cylinder which acts as a bead breaker when removing the tire from the wheel.
