Hello All,
I want a flashlight for my Bronco-F150; the go to C or D cell batteries for the classic “mag-light” hsgg BG e traditionally gone bad inside the tube and end up ruining a $40 flashlight. I have thought about a Streamlight that has the 12v charger or a a Milwaukee light that looks like a regular flashlight and uses their 12v batteries. Most important really to me is that the battery doesn’t crap out due to heat like the C & D cell batteries do. The Stream is nice because of the mount and the 12v charger but they too have a battery that’s similar to regular batteries and I’m guessing will crap out too. The Milwaukee 2355-21 is what I’m leaning towards at this moment.

Remember I'm old school. Or maybe just old. Either way I could care less about shiny bling that's not charged up when I need it.

A good number here will shudder at the name they likely remember in grandpas or dad's toolbox. So much that some would never buy it.

Of course I don't know if you're trying to illuminate lug nuts or daylight a cow at 100 yards, but I have many of these and they just work good.

My only issue with a regular battery is the batteries die and seize inside the tube. I’m leaning towards the Milwaukee beverage I think the battery durability should be higher; otherwise the ol maglight is an option.

That’s pretty cool! I like old school though. I Have a converted LED 4 C cell Mag Light, mounted at the door jam, below the seat in the unicorn. It’s bright and can be used as self defense!

I've gotten away from standard flashlights and went to a headlamp. I use them for work, hunting/camping and offroad trips. I like having my hands free and light wherever I'm looking. Those rayovacs are tried and true, I still have a few floating around in vehicles.

I was going to mention the headlamp but it didn't sound like it would fit the need.

But totally agreed.....once tried it's really hard to work with any other kind of personal light source.

I have more Black Diamond headlamps than Rayovac flashlights.

Well I sniper bid out this one... kind of a stupid purchase but I have had at least 4-5 nice regular battery powered flashlights with exploded batteries in the tube get ruined. One of the things I want in the F150 is a small inverter to be able to charge a couple Milwaukee 18v battery banks.

I have a stream light stinger and they are bright!! The battery charge last a good amount of time. The issue is im not sure how long the battery life is until I have to actually replace. I have had it a few years now and no issues.

I have 4 or 5 of these. I lose them and buy a new one, then find the old one. Uses 3 AAA's. I know you didn't say headlamp, and that miluakee light is pretty cool. But i honestly don't even carry flashlights anymore. Headlamps look goofy, but they're so much better.
