Looking into lifting my bronco 4inches and have done my research on off the shelve kits like pro comp,rough country, BDS, to more custom kit like desolate and threat but I’m still lost. I drive my bronco daily with some light off roading here and there what you guys recommend ?

Your wallet will dictate the mfg and/or style exclusively.....Chinese production or American ingenuity.

Pro Comp, Rough Country and the like are good for DD use, cruising the mall and occasional light off roading or crawling. Complete suspension and associated only I'll call this the $500 to $1500 solution.

Products by Desolate, Solo, Threat, et al are for anything more serious than any of that, including going fast.....even for short periods. Complete suspension and associated only I'll call this the $2500 to $25000 solution.

If you choose to go fast - be prepared for the dollars to leave your wallet the in the same fashion.

I’d say there are 3 major categories to Suspension lift/systems to consider. I’d break it down this simply-

1. Basic lift- FRT: drop brackets for the Front axle and stock radius arms w/ longer springs & shocks. This just lowers the mounting points which raise the body from suspension. RR: add a leaf or blocks.
No real performance gains Offroad. All sho no go.

2. Performance lift- FRT: Drop bracket for the front axles, extended radius arms, coils & shocks. Longer radius arms allow better articulation and are substantially stronger than the basic lift kit. RR: Block, add a leaf or Lift leaf
Good for mostly street with the occasional playing in the dirt, ****No your limits**

3. Performance Suspension System- this reworks the axle housing itself to lift why utilizing factory mounts, extended radius arms. These vary from stock width to extended, stock rubber joints or hiem/uniball and coil, coilover or coil over bypass. RR- Performance leaf replacement, longer leaf kits or links.

If you do any kind of off-roading I’d stay away from #1.

I’ve bought a couple Broncos off Craigslist for $500 that had complete performance lift kits and sold them for more than the truck. Look for the junker projects and pull the lift off that, sell the rest of the parts and scrap it. You may end up making some money

Great input thanks going to look out for something on Craig’s but I’m thinking your option 2 would work for now

Check the classifieds as well you can find 4" springs and shocks all the time for cheap and cut and turned beams themselves are not much either I think it was 250 was paid on my last bronco
