General Red Label, or Open Country M/T?
I am going to run 33x12.50-15's.
Which is the better tire?
Is there something better than either of these?
The Generals are a lot cheaper, 180 each instead of 275 each for the toyo's.
BFG at's are also 180, but I think I need something a little more aggressive/tougher overall than an a/t.

Re: General Red Label, or Open Country M/T?
I just recently spoke to my tire guy about the open country. They wear slightly poorer than the bfg a/t but only by about 10k miles or so. We also spoke about the red labels. They are really soft and wear very poorly on road. In his opinion they are really an off road only tire.
Also, call Tucker Tire in Covina on the Toyos. They quoted me 218 a tire IIRC.

BFG KM2, Mickey Thompson AT2, Toyo RT... plenty of other options out there.

Don't go the generals, I hate them. Decent on hard pack but if you hit anything loose they don't track at all.
Unless you want to buy mine then they are great!!! Haha

X2 Love mine all around. I have the Toyos on my diesel. Great tires. Have had 4 sets and never a flat and I think they wear well and aren't too loud for a MT. I went with the coopers on the Bronco though, because they are way lighter. They were also only $325 for 37s.

Was pitting next to the Childress class 1 crew at Vegas to Reno in 2013 and the crew was cursing the tires, saying how much they suck. They said they got several flats per race.birdco85 wrote:Don't go the generals, I hate them. Decent on hard pack but if you hit anything loose they don't track at all.

I believe it. Mine are the DOT version so that can't help but I sure am happy I didn't buy them new. I got a great deal and will make a good deal when I sell them.
It's gonna be the coopers or the new BFG A/T's for me.

I would have entertained the new BFG, but they were not out when I needed tires.
General Red Label, or Open Country M/T?
Last I checked the release date for 35's was someone in April.

I've heard nothing but poor reviews on the Falken Wild Peaks.

General Red Label, or Open Country M/T?
We had the wild peaks on all of the vehicles at work and now not one of them has them. They lasted about a year. They chunk really bad and the grooves aren't cut drop so they slick very quickly.

Absolutely don't buy any tire from Big O- if the tire is bad like one of my generals was they put their hands up and sorry you didn't buy road hazard. This is after literally bringing the truck right back as there was a balance issue. Makes me only want to buy from non franchise corporate stores.
