Need help asap, speedo not working
Need help asap, speedo not working
Speedo not working, hard shifts over drive flashing. Checked all fuses twice cus last time this happened it was a fuse. I replaced the vss/abs sensor on rear axle(relocated to back of tranny due to 9") only code engine is putting out is the speed sensor... I've had the abs light on for ages, no problems, I removed the wires that went to tires and never had a problem, i put new motor mounts on and built a aluminum dash so I pulled out the instrument cluster and took the face off to clean it. Now it's not working? Any suggestions, I hear about this 4wabs but I can't see how that would be a problem

Did you unplug the 4WABS unit from above the steering box?

Either a fuse is blown or the cluster isn't plugged in.
Signal goes from rear end VSS > 4WABS controller > PSOM (Speedometer) > ECM

I checked all fuses, I know 8 and 18 were the main ones for speedo, could my speedo of broke or something when I pulled it out?

It's unlikely. Is your odometer lighting up?

Check all of your fuses, not just 8 & 18. Verify that the 4WABS is plugged in. Verify with a volt meter that your relocated VSS is putting out a signal using the AC function. Try reversing polarity on the VSS wires anywhere you may have spliced them.
Re: Need help asap, speedo not working
All fuses good, 4wabs plugged in(took out and put back in to be sure), volt meter says there getting power to the vss, I never spliced it, just took out of pumpkin and it reached to back of tranny
