May have bought the wrong wheels..
So I got trigger happy on the ol internet machine a few days ago and purchased a new set of wheels and tires. I picked up a set of the 17" Method NV's and 35" Toyo R/T's from 4wheelparts without really considering the 4.75" backspace on that particular wheel. After doing some research Im almost positive I'm going to have serious steering/rubbing issues with that set-up. Few questions:
1) Opinions on wheel spacers?
2) Should I just pick a new set of wheels? Although Im pretty sure the tires have been mounted so a simple exchange is probably out of the question.
3) Is anyone running the 17" NV's?

That backspace will be fine on a 17x8.5 wheel.

I have 17" method double standards with the same backspacing on a 4" all drop bracket lift with 34.5 inch tall bfg all terrains and it rubs my radius arms.

Pretty much every Bronco with 35" tires rubs the radius arms at full lock. Radius arm construction does come into play. If it bothers you, you can install steering stop bolts in the knuckles and restrict steering angles a little.mustube wrote:I have 17" method double standards with the same backspacing on a 4" all drop bracket lift with 34.5 inch tall bfg all terrains and it rubs my radius arms.

As Philo said - this is very common.

Re: May have bought the wrong wheels..
The set Im running now rubs the radius arms as well and I believe the backspace is less than the new methods so that was my concern. Wont really know for sure until they get mounted but they sure are sexy! Thanks for the responses. Appreciate it!

Threw two on to check clearance and they're all good. Lil rub at full lock so Ill probably install steering stops as Philo stated to keep em from rubbing. Synergy ball joints, coils, and shocks this weekend before I put em on. Thanks again for the help. Rad community here!

On the upside, your steering will be much better than it would be with large offset wheels.

Being tighter in the rear I imagine more rub on the inner wheel wells?

During full compression I'd imagine this could be an issue as well. However, I don't have any go-fast suspension work done yet so my travel is limited. Im still trying to budget out my engine build. I drool over the suspension/fab stuff you guys have going on with your rigs! Ill get there one day.robertcrav wrote:Being tighter in the rear I imagine more rub on the inner wheel wells?
