A friend of mine has a 93 bronco with a 5.7. He is having an issue with a mis. Said he changed plugs, injector, ecu, checked spark and checked compression. He has checked all the usual suspects. He is wondering if maybe he has a damaged injector wire somewhere.

Was wondering if anyone has any input on this or has had a similar issue and if he is overlooking something.

I would fire it up for just a few seconds then try and pull the plugs to see if one is wet...would let him know if it's a spark or fuel issue no?

Then could he fire it up and disconnect one injector at a time and determine which cylinder it is, as if there is no change in idle that's the cylinder with the issue?

I'm probably missing something critical with the diagnosis but in my mind it makes sense.

Where does he live matt? We can take a look if you want. I would say pull one plug wire at a time and identify the cylinder that isnt firing for starters.

hhaha damn I have had this issue for a while too hahahha its a bitch... I just started to replace stuff.......eventually got it...... thanks to josh!!!!

Has he checked his EGR? I have seen stuck EGR's cause a misfire..... kicked my ass.

Yup what all the above said, narrow it down to an area and its easier to help. Post up your findings. Good luck.

Bad pickup in the distributor or worn shaft in the distributor have caused that problem for me.

Would need more details to start to narrow it down. Is it a solid consistant miss? Or a stumble that comes and goes? Hot/cold always sometimes? Load /no load?

Bad pick up (pip sensor) on mine too. A reman distributor did it for me.
