I'm thinking of going to maf in my 89 to open up what engine mods I could do in the future since ill have the motor out anyway. Would a kit be eaiser or since I have a 5.0 and an aod could I use the harness and eec out of a mustang? I don't think trucks/bko came with a 5.0 and aod with mass air .

I would just do the install. I have an old kit (harness and instructions) if interested.

Mustang EEC easy to find, pick apart the harness, jumper out the trans sensors? I remember reading a trans swap article to put an aod in a 95 maf obd2. It Was a mustang swap article.

It might have been monster transmission.com who sells a trans jumper kit... I can't remember, anyway after the jumper u can run any mechanical trans u want, that would at least eliminate the cel for pickey smog guys. Besides that run all mustang stuff.

I have an aod and so does a mustang so I don't see the need for a jumper. I'm contemplating even fixing this thing right now, getting tired of working on my daily driver :/ and I would have to do it all in under 7 days.

Why not run the computer from a 5spd mustang? Your aod is mechanical should be pretty simple and easy to find a manual computer and mustang.

Thanks drew that's the kind of info I'm looking for, 1 other question, what about the switch on the trans for the nss and reverse lights?
