is the change of speedo port vs no speedo port and linkage for aod vs e4od the only differenes through the years for broncos with 1356 t cases? fixed vs slip and manual vs electric are already known differences for it across the board.

I found a manual t case in a 1989 but i think the speedo hole is in it and the linkage and shifter are different. Anybody know any other differences and the years things changed?

If it has a speedo port in it, fit a speed sensor geared correctly and delete the rear axle mounted sensor (not sure this would work successfully, but its an idea) or just use the sensor as a bung to seal the hole.

It sends out a differant signal. Just put a freeze plug in it to seal it up. You should be able to use your shifter and rod on any of the manual shift cases.

1356 manual changes are the speedo port. I am not sure when it changed. The part is removable from the electric e40d 1356 t case and swapped on so there is no whole to plug.

The manual tcase also has a gear indicator switch next to the vent on the front side. This gear case indicator switch can be wired directly into the factory harness via a capped off plug that goes un used on an electric t case. The harness jumper required to go from switch to harness is F6TZ-14K067-AA .

I am still trying to locate the gate bracket that mounts to the E4OD that the t case shift linkage bolts to, the linkage itself is available from rock auto and the relay rod is available from ford for $10.

Anybody with an E4OD manual t case shifter bracket lying around...im looking for it and the linkage if available but I know I can locate that easily new.
