Electric t-case wiring

Do all the trucks come with the harness built in for the electric t-case wiring? If not what does it consist of for wiring? I think I'd rather have a push button shift on my crew.

I would think all the trucks after whatever year first came with electric shift are wired for it. All Explorers are wired for 4wd (electric shift) even if they are 2wd.

The connector spears to be behind the dash bezel. This is on a 96-97 F250 (Big Bertha). I'm not sure what goes on below the cab though. Maybe Mark knows? I think his Lightning is electric?

Thats a convincing enough reason to change   I would just sent the drive motor into orbit and shift it with a crescent wrench :P
To fit a manual t/case in a '94 Bronco, it just bolts in place of the electric one and a hole cut in the floor and a boot fitted, right? (along with the appropriate wiring mods, too).

What all did you do for wiring? I assume your 4x4 and 4lo lights work on the cluster?

Without the electric motor on the t-case it won't stay in gear (Either 4wd, 4lo, or 2wd).

I think you have mis-understood. I already know that. I plan to remove the electric t/case and fit a pull stick one in its place. I dont see any issues apart from the wiring needing some mods to keep the dash lights and a hole for the stick. :D :D :D

The switches on the tcase are independent of the shift motor. You should be able to install it and go.

Yeah, now you're talkin' :D :D :D (No more push button/swear blue murder/ crawl underneath with hammer, zip ties, duct tape & visegrips/leave smashed to pieces motor drive strewn behind/drive into sunset with zip tied & duct taped vicegrips holding t/case in correct gear/position.)
By the way, in Aus we call a crescent wrench a "Shifter".

Just in case you miss your high school days of crawling under your 4x4 to put it in 4wd.

Sweet! As the mfg says, "Just reach under your seat and select the range!" Just about to go this way with the miserable BII, fortunately the Explorer uses the same motor and switch setup.

Ha! That's pretty cool! At that price, it might be worth buying and throwing in the glove box.
