my Engine is leaking!

here's some pics of where my engine is leaking from. i parked my Bronco in the garage for a couple days and there was no oil on the ground. i just started it up and let run, and it started to flow out oil from here. could this be a bad oil pan seal?? or somthing worse!

Hey Andy,
It's really tough to tell from the pics, but it could be leaking from the oil cooler flange where it screws into the block. (Yes, I'm very optimistic). If I'm not mistaken, the oil cooler flange is o-ringed and should be easy to replace (the o-ring I mean). But, it also could be your oil pan gasket. Most likely you're not getting oil leaking when the engine is not running because it's all settled down into the pan and then when you start it up, you have oil pressure which now finds the path of least resistance and voila, oil on the garage floor.

Change the seal on the oil/coolant adapter. It's should be easy to do after removing the oil filter and draining the coolant. I would tell you how but I've never had a truck equipped with one of those.

It's not likely the oil pan due to there being no oil pressure in there. The filter sees up to 60 PSI when it's cold.

I have to agree. The oil looks like it is coming from mid-way up the oil cooler adapter. My old Ranger had one of these to clear the steering. Two oil filters were on the inner fender where the battery used to sit. It looked very cool!
