Excesive shaking problem?

Hey guys, ok so as i said in my last post about the EGR Delete i bought a 93 f-250 and did a complete tune up as well as motor mounts and a trans mount, after i got it running perfect i was driving all fine and stuff no problems no shaking or anything. One day i went out to swap batteries, had a cheap vautozone battery and i put a yellow top in it. Well after i did that it wanted to shake alot when it idles. Anywhere from 800-1200 rpms, and then when it gets to about 2500-3200 it shakes as well. Its a really quick light shake that makes everything rattle. I pop the hood and the motor is shaking as well... everything is tight, firing order is good, harm. balancer is good. But im lost with this one. It bothers the hell out of me because it rattles everything... any ideas on what it could be?

Put some miles on it, disconnecting the battery reset the computer, it will take some time for it to sort itself out again.

Well I figured it out today. It was the harmonic ballancer. It came completely lose today while I was in Parker at the race. I can move it freely. So looks like I'll be swapping balances now.

Had the same issue. New balancer made it all go away. Got a new set of wires and plugs, TPS cleaning and a few other maintenance things on the way to finding it. Probably needed those other things anyway.

Yeah. I've already done wires, plugs, etc... so that's what i have left ill do that then clean the TPS and hopefully she'll be good!

Word to the wise.... Boil the new harmonic balancer for 10-15 mins before install. No it's not to kill the germs lol but it makes it slide on with alot more ease than 2 room temp parts.

Does it make it that much easier? and im supposed to use the special tool to press it on correct?

Yes, puller for extraction ( 3 arm puller or bolt in puller depending on pulley style) and the applicator tool uses the center bolt hole and pushes the outside. The boiling expands it enough to avoid galling and slides easy, I can snap a pic of the applicator aka pusher tonight. The center bolt works too if its long enough to get started with the replacement balancer just barely started. You want to be fast before heat is transferred.

Seems to me I used this style of puller to remove, and center bolt to reinstall after boiling. I think the arm style puller was impossible to use after the rubber had separated from the inner and outer pieces.

Also make sure you use something ( removable puller foot aka cap on the jack screw) to protect crank shaft threads. If you ruin the threads you ruin the crank keep that in mind.
