hesitating uphill

On my 96 E150..ok not the Bronco, but it tows it out to the dez. It started hesitating as I accelerate uphill, it hasn't given me any codes...any suggestions?

When was the last time it had a tune up? That should be your first step if it has not had one recently. You need a baseline before chasing other problems.

Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve, check for broken vacuum lines, clean AIC, check + adjust TPS, and clean MAF if it has one.

If it still does it after that then look to fuel pressure or sensor issues.

Weak ignition coil(s) will give a similar hesitation, but not just going up hills.

I changed the fuel filter and it's still doing the same...next step is as philofab says.
