Re: Gas Tanks and Fuel Cells

- Put a doubler on the stock skid. - Make sure you have limits on compression using some kind of bump. No mater what you do to provide more clearance for the tank, mine and just about all the rest of you will eventually find that big rock that is exactly in the place that crunches the tank. Dont wor...

Re: Cage design, material, and tie in to frame

thanks paul for the pics You are welcome. The camera works fine. I reduce the pics size to ~50k for quick load. The best part of my cage is it was done by Glen. A real pro. No issues at all just great design and build $$. All done with MIG and no cracks so far and I beat it pretty hard. 5k miles ju...

Did you buy yours and your dad's directly from NWMP? Or did you go through BroncoGraveyard?

Here is a link to NWMP if anyone is interested.

Re: Creative Battery Relocation???

I made a sheet metal box which I located under & left of the driveshaft. It was bolted to the transfer skid and the body crossmember. Yes it saw some flex, but the extension to the transfer skid handled it well. It held 2 Optimas. 1/8" steel with 1/8" side protectors. I used home made J bolts to hol...

Re: Baja Almanac

Some like it some do not. More mileage numbers is good You might want to make notes on your Almanac? The latitude degree numbers on maps 5,6, and 7 are wrong (they are misprinted and show the same as map 4, to the north). On maps 5 & 6 the five 31º lines should each be 30º (the minute numbers are fi...

Re: AC box mod/clearancing?

Know nothing about a Ranger, but a FSB has top have the filter in the cowl. Reason is has to be above the blend door. One of my pipe dreams to put a filterr inth the cowl with some kind of easy way to change the thing. To hard makes me have a headach. No time anyway .

Re: Cage design, material, and tie in to frame

For starters answers must be tempered because every fab guy has his own approach. My 96 was a pro built with my and my sons inputs based on real world study of many Broncos. Your solution will be different. 4 seat with 4/5 point harness for the two front seats. Big comprimise required. Caution, it i...

Remember you are just looking for 1a couple inches of more clearance. The 2nd fuzzy pic shows the fat pop rivits holding heated/bent 1/8" plastic sheet. When done ap...

Thanks for the great thread. Everything in one place. The Steve83 post is amazing - Just like many of his stuff. Re: 2 link question

[For a rock crawler I think the hindrance would be ground clearance issues and not binding issues. I checked the geometry on my 2-link kit when I installed it by removing and installing the bars with the suspension fully compressed and extended. Everything aligned very well in either direction. At ...

Re: 9" build.

Other ways to deal with modifying a VSS signal are out there. This means if you have a transfer that has an interal device then one of these below should be able to make it compatible with your ecu??? Example, the latest Wranglers use an internal VSS and one of these gadgets is required to get a cor...

Re: Frame Welding Do's and Dont's (Thanks Nick)

Both my Broncos and others built by Glen are fully unitized. Meaning the cage and body are welded together. Bed rail stitch welded to the lateral from the B to the C. The A to b at the top same. The A cage tube follows the body A and they are stitched together. No more issues there , just where the ...

Re: Tranny Pan replacement and service

I guess this is where/why it gets controversial, BUT, isn't the fluid in the pan the fluid getting picked up and sent through the trans? If so, wouldn't that be the temp that matters? Who cares of the fluid coming out of trans is 1000°F (exaggeration) if that temp won't make it to trans? It doesn't...
