Re: Stroker motor talk!..
My engine builder warned me away from the 347. In his opinion because of the rod angles the life expectancy of the 347 was a lot less than the 331. He said in his experience the 331 would last as long as the 302 but with the 347 life was limited with sustained relatively high rpm operation.

Re: Stroker motor talk!..
I have 331 roller with GT40 heads, a Comp Cams 270h cam, 9.8:1 compression, BBK shorty headers, Holley 600 carb on an Edelbrock Air Gap manifold. It is good motor for a Prerunner; it loves to rev and pulls really hard between 3000-4500 rpm. It is not the best at the bottom end of the powerband but i...

Re: race radio
I have one of those Kenwood 271 radios that has been modded. There are two things you should know. 1. Ask if you can trade the mic with all the buttons for a standard mic, the one it comes with is not built to withstand the dust and will stop working very soon, trust me. 2. The radio will not broadc...

Re: 2012 SCORE Baja 1000
Gun-It Racing will be racing in class 8 instead of class 3 this year. The broken spindle and resulting front end problems we had at the HDRA night race required a total re-construction of the front suspension and steering. That put us behind schedule and we don't have enough time to fully test and d...

Re: Giant 64 kit vs q80
One thing that has not been mentioned in this discussion is that if the spring hangers are re-located on the spring over design that there is a big improvement in performance and longevity of the spring. The other item is the shackles; people use stock shackles with long travel springs which will al...

Gun-It Racing at HDRA Dusk til Dawn in Primm NV
We raced the Bronco at the HDRA Dusk til Dawn race last weekend as a good shake down for the Baja 1000. We used the opportunity to let everyone get behind the wheel and to have the team practice pit stops. That part all went well but our race ended with a broken spindle and we had to leave the car o...

Re: Tow Rigs what do you use?
The Bronco and the race car are plenty of projects for me. I prefer my tow rig to be stock and reliable which is exactly what the Duramax has been for over seven years now.
