That tubing swings out to be a crossbar at the rear of the rack, I've been up and down from the back of the bed lately so I have it swung forward.

Core Final.JPG Looks like several folks are putting Vintage Air into their trucks. I started this process awhile back and have been working on it slowly. I started with a straight core support from the local yard and first mounted a new Champion radiator on it. then came the AC condenser with a big...

Back from sandblast, SD Powdercoat does all my stuff, they have a $200 per hour rate and blasted my parts in 20min = $70 bucks. It's like a sore unit "You can't beat it"

Re: Oldbaja. Chase
You're so right. So far, I'm not into this for much and there are always trade offs or concessions. For example this Dana 70 was very early in production so it has and odd 23 spline axle, therefor Spider gears are not available for the Power loc LS. I hope it doesn't need them. I should be able to g...

Re: Oldbaja. Chase
I'll try and explain, My truck is a 74, 38" frame width and the donor Dana 70 is from a 74, same frame so the leaf spring perches are perfect. Some E-350 super duty vans 2000ish came with Dana 70s and rear disc breaks, being a van their lug pattern is correct on the hubs, they just need 5/8 studs. I...

A sharp eye can see I've cut off the brake flanges from the axle tubes.
I'm going to weld (Darin will weld)) on 1/2 Late model flanges to mount late model Super Duty rear disc brakes.

Found a F-350 Camper Special and I made off with the Dana 70 with 4:10s Power-Loc LS , Leaf Springs ,and Sway-Bar. all to help stabilize the back half when pulling Oldbaja on a trailer down the road.

Todd, that's the dream. I think I'll make it one day, still one left in collage.
In the meantime I sure enjoy working on all the little smalls that need attention.
Congrats on your book, that's an accomplishment to last a lifetime.
I look forward to meeting in person one day.
