Re: Jacks...
The jack I reach for first is the Baja Designs Kwik Jak HD. Light, easy to use, and fits in a gear bag. Of course, it needs to have a charged CO2 bottle, so I always carry a backup. Backup number one is a Craftsman aluminum floor jack, but it's bulky and I don't carry it all the time. Failing those ...

Seymour Cast Blast is excellent stuff!
It's a dark grey cast iron color, hence the name. Dries fast. Durable. Easy to touch up.

Re: Start Your Go-Fast Build-Rear Suspension
Does anyone know whose this is, forgot where i pulled it from. That's a Curt LeDuc-built Bronco owned by a guy named Lee Hayes. Both front and rear suspensions cycle at 16 inches--it's stock width. I shot this a few years ago for Off-Road Magazine--that may actually be one of my photos. I still hav...

Toyota Tundra calipers might be a good option if you can adapt them to your knuckles. They're powerful four-piston calipers that run quietly--just what you're after.

Re: kuster bypass shocks questions
I've also seen bypass shocks mounted to a stubby tube which is mounted to the main chassis via a couple of tubular bushing mounts. This is similar to using a urethane bushing in the upper shock eye, but is probably more durable since you're using two urethane bushing mounts instead of one. King's ne...

Whittier, CA.
I grew up in Fullerton, CA, just a few miles away.
SoCal is the best and the worst place to live! For me, the good outweighs the bad.

Rancho's TTB drop brackets are actually well-engineered and well-made, so there's no need to cut & turn.

I'm glad you liked the story!
Yeah, the current issue's stories aren't posted online.
Shane's Bronco works incredibly well, especially considering it's got stock-width axles and stock sheet metal.

Re: How big is too big?
A Dana 50 TTB should be able to handle 37's.
I don't see why anyone would put 37's on a Dana 44 TTB if that tire size relegates 4WD to occasional use only.

I saw those on Dezertrangers. Very nice!
STX brackets are hard to find, and yours are stronger anyway.
If you're building a TTB Ranger or Explorer those are definitely the way to go.

Are the Rancho brackets available a la carte? I won't need the whole lift kit that they come with.

Anyone Make Their Own TTB Brackets?
I've seen Rancho TTB drop brackets used in a go-fast application, along with Southwest Performance radius arms. This was on Shane's '90 Bronco, which some of you are probably familiar with. Even though drop brackets are usually considered evil, the Rancho brackets are well-engineered and seem to hol...

Your wheel bearings, knuckle ball joints, and tie rods will thank you for going to different wheels, too.

Man, that thing is gorgeous! Stretched "B" pillars look good too, but I love the look of the stretched shell.

Paul,
Thanks for the pics! Do you have any overall pics of the Bronco? I looked through the "Rides" section, but if yours is there I missed it.

Sounds like a 110-inch wheelbase with a stretched cab would be a great way to go.

Re: Radius Arm Info
There's about 5 degrees of positive caster built into the TTB beams. You don't need to build much (if any) caster into the radius arms.
Longer radius arms need custom pivot brackets--the height of these pivot brackets influences caster, as does the construction of the radius arms.
