Re: New And Better Bronco Speed Sensor Relocation Kit w/price

neat idea. and for $300, not bad...

For $300, it'd make me re-think installing the tone ring and sensor in the 9" like we did.

We trussed/plated the hell out of the beams in the shop truck....rational being we're in there messing w/ them, they were clean/blasted...and it was all stripped. if it was going to get done, it was going to happen then. the guts of the front end on the shop truck are all stock. it gets used in 4x4 ...

Re: transmission question

More C6 technical trivia I forgot to mention: There are about 3 different 4wd tailhousing lengths that were available. You must match the housing with the shaft of course. I can tell you the short one matched with a 205 transfer case puts the front driveshaft right against the side of the trans, an...

Just rock crawler junk. Used because it does not matter when going slow and getting to the rocks on a trailer. PW spoken like someone who's never really been rock crawling! though, these may be up for sale in a while.... on that note.....Stock 70's radius arms....are they steel?..nicely weldable? M...

Re: 78/79 go a little bit fast front suspension ???'s

Truck also comes w/ a set of James Duff radius arms. I have zero experience w/ these. I was going to just build some myself, but, if these will take the abuse, it'll save me some time. Anybody have any hard miles on them? --B bringing this back up... should I trust these Duff arms? They're certainl...

78/79 go a little bit fast front suspension ???'s

Older Ford solid axle go-fast front suspension tech, while not rocket science....seems to be kinda few and far between. :warning: this may get a little long-winded... So, I'm in the planning stages of a new project, a 78/79 for 'general purpose' all-around wheelin' use, w/ somewhat of a slant to goi...

One more..

Figure'd I'd introduce myself here... Berne....clever name. been around/building/beat on Broncos for some time now. Have been off and on FSB, came from the old bigbroncos email list, etc... Do alot of rockcrawling, competitively and for fun....KOH stuff, raced the baja 1k last few years in jeepseed,...

Re: Suspension seat vs Poly Bucket seat

a couple thing... first, If you plan to do much of any 'rock crawling'...I would avoid the hard seats like the plague. There's something about popping over big rocks and coming down right on the frame.....direct.....no-suspension hits....in hard seats, they make you feel an inch shorter the next day...

A fab'd front housing would be nice..... --B I still have a set of D60 "C's" & Knuckles... Add one of Dan's housings and a High9; 35-spline side to side, one of these days, when money grows on trees  True.......but.... its just a downhill slide involving cubic dollars at that point. I'm sure t...

Re: Rear Shock Mounts

I've said this is in other threads, but I built and broke two of my own mounts before I came across a used Autofab mount. Version 2.0 was REALLY stout and ended up in the scrap pile. I learned a lot about the kinds of forces at work back there in this process. When I was planning on building versio...

Re: Solid axle tech.

Link to the truss in question. http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/showthread.php?t=220 Don't think there has been one to go more than 10,000 race miles yet. That is a bunch more miles then I expected! No $hit...... 10,000 race miles.....I can think of alot of racecars that don't make it nearly tha...

Re: Solid axle tech.

Maybe so .. but.. we have never had a problem with any of the cast steel portion or tubes. We mig weld the truss to them with a little preheat and have never had a crack there. We do not brace the top of the C just the truss is tied into the bottom. The problem area is the cast iron pumpkin for str...

only decent pics I could find on this computer.. first....a general view of the truck to get a feel for the sleeper aspect of it. shop_truck_KOH_1.JPG and a couple shots of the rear of the truck.... look real close at the front spring hanger, and you can almost make out that....it isn't going anywhe...

Re: Rear Leaf Springs

well....moving the hangers down would certainly be one way to do it....but (I'll see if I can find pictures), the spring hangers on this truck are now.....well....pretty permanent. More up travel is going to come via different springs, or cut/notch the frame, maybe both. Though, if we were to start ...

Re: Rear Leaf Springs

If you really wanted to you could leaf frog the shackle hangar farther down and use a F250/350 front hanger for more lift. Usually a spring with more arch will work better though. Anyone know what Deaver does to stock leaves to rework them? ya, we've thought about several things. It really needs to...

Re: Rear Leaf Springs

I'm ass-uming that the "lift" numbers for the springs listed are for 80+ trucks? Aren't the 78/79's rear spring hangers different....so a 4" rear spring for an 80+ bronco comes out more like a 6" spring in a 78/79? also assuming those are numbers w/ a stock length shackle...??? Recently built an ear...
