If you are on snow, that really puts a strain on the joints and gears. The tires are spinning a lot and when they catch, it is all over. Thanks. I ask because my needs are in a gray area, for my use; I would rather only build it once. For pure desert use or as unpowered suspension I doubt that I would have any problems building it strong enough. However, it is amazing how much abuse one can generate when running deep snow.
