Check the connections for the speed density. The intake air temp sensor connector on mine was broken when I bought the truck. It was still connected and ran fine when dry, but once water made its way into the sensor it would run funky for a bit. It is located on the lower intake on the drivers side,...

There are plenty of sensors and connections to check before diving into a new motor. There could be a number of things that are making it lose power. Run a self test to pull codes. Just because the check engine light is not on does not mean that there isen't something out of whack! Here are some art...

In regards to the factory limited slip. Jegs sells a couple kits.
