Re: The Goonwagon

I should have the engine around the end of the month.

No idea, I told him what I wanted from the motor and he picked the parts.

Re: Seats

I have the MC Baja RS in mine. If youre a big boy get the wider ones. Mine are +2 and very comfortable even on super long prerun days. My only regret was not getting them extra tall as well (Im 6'4')

Re: The Goonwagon

Well the 408 turned out to be cost prohibitive so I am going with the budget stroker, a 393. It should still provide adequate H and torques for my needs. If I decide down the road that it really sucks I can swap to AL heads to get Mo Powa!

Re: The Goonwagon

Yep, non MAF. Gonna carb it. Has good World iron heads now. THinking 408 kit and a little more aggressive cam. Hoping for 350-400 torques with a nice flatish curve that runs on Pemex. Nothing crazy.

Re: The Goonwagon

On my way to the IV250 last week the truck let out a huge cloud of blue smoke. Looked like I was playing Spyhunter. Found out why.

Re: Race radios

I have an Icom 208h and Vertex something thats looks almost identical to the big Kenwood TT radios. I prefer the 208 over the V8000 as the faceplate is remote and takes less space in the dash, as you can put the main radio elsewhere where space allows. Same with the Vertex. If you are mainly just li...

Re: GoPro users.......school us

With a 2 or 3 expect half the advertised battery life. The 3 is a POS. Avoid at all costs. Frequently locks ups, needs reboot etc.

Get the app for changing settings and such, makes life 100x easier.

Re: To link or leaf?

I decided a lil while back to go links. Dont want to deal with springs every year, especially with how hard Kritter springs are to get/replace.

Will cost more up front and less in the long run I figure.

Re: Suspension seat on stock slider. Who's done it?

I have +4 MC Baja RS seats on sliders that are mounted to the cage. As a large and tall guy (6'4") height was a concern. We did end up getting them low enough so my head can clear all cage tubes.

Re: Dual Spares

Top mounts are not attached to the cage. Bumper takes the load, top just for location basically. No issues yet and its done the 1000, 250, parker and the 500. Time will tell, and its an easy change to make later if needed.
