87-91 and 92-96 will swap, and make sure if you buy a stock replacement, get one with the thicker core. Some stores list a thinner core for a 5.0 and thicker for 5.8

Figured this was a decent place to ask my question since cut and turn is already being talked about. I have an extra set of beams and all the right tools to give cut and turn a go on my own, I just want to make sure I'm on the right track with where I'm going with this. I've made a jig to hold the t...

I have a 9 inch in my bronco with dodge front rotors, and el Dorado calipers with weld on caliper brackets. I picked the dodge rotor because it slips over the axle just like the drum did with no machine work at all, and had some el Dorado calipers laying around. I can't say I use my parking brake a ...

Re: chevy l.s. engine swap vs good old ford power

I know a guy with a buggy that he put a 6.0 from an escalade in and only made 212 to the rear wheels on a dyno. On the same note as to why LS motors are cheap, how is the coyote motor swap 15k? There's a ton of wrecked f150s (I know they don't have the same hp rating as a mustang) in yards all over ...

Re: May have bought the wrong wheels..

I have 17" method double standards with the same backspacing on a 4" all drop bracket lift with 34.5 inch tall bfg all terrains and it rubs my radius arms.

Re: Tube bending.

A 35 degree bend on a 5.5" radius is 3.36" of bend at the center so mark the center of your tube and measure half that distance to both sides of that center mark. This gives you a 3.36" long area right in the center of your tube. One end mark should be the start of your bend and the other will be th...

Re: Ignition switch issue

I have an actuator rod. I was wondering if I'm missing a small bushing or something that goes on the end. I'm going to try twisting the actuator rod so that the end is pointing more towards the other side of the hole in the switch.

Ignition switch issue

In an attempt to take every last bit of slop out of the steering, I took the column out of my Bronco to fix the bearings and u-joint in the tilt part of the shaft. I got it all back together, but I'm having an issue with the ignition switch. Where the ignition actuator rod goes into the switch, for ...

Re: Dying while driving, need to fix ASAP

Could be a bad or loose ground somewhere. I had a 93 with a 5.0 that would randomly die and it turned out to be a loose ground on the passenger side fender just behind the headlamp housing. I'd visually inspect the wiring from the distributor to the ignition module on the drivers fender and all of t...

Looks like all the negatives of irs with all the negatives of a solid axle. Portals would probably be better wouldn't they?

Texas Bronco

Just picked up this bronco from a friend today. 351/zf5 speed 4.10 gears, auburn limited slip up front, 9" with a truss and Detroit in the back, 17" methods and bfg all terrains. Plan is to clean it up, remove the drop bracket lift and do cut and turned beams and radius arms, deaver coils and leafs ...
