Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

Thanks for all the positive feedback! I got both of the sides tacked on tonight and started building more bracing. I still have to build a vertical tube for the side bracing and than I will start the boat sides.

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

Yeah we are planning on putting the shocks at a 45 degrees at bump to get a good amount of travel. Valving will be fun for sure if we angle the shocks that much. The limiting factors to this class are you can only have 14in stroke shocks mounted on the axle and you cant have bigger tires than 37s.

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

Thanks man, and yes I am planning on KOH. Building it to be race legal in the stock mod in ultra4 and the dirt riot races. I plan to race dirt riot first to work out all the bugs before doing KOH. Only downfall to racing this class is I will have to mount my shocks on the axle now so I will be losin...

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

Starting to look like a rock racer now. Yup going for better visibility and trying to be as narrow as possible for the rock sections in the races. Got the new cage all tacked on to the bronco frame today. plan is to get the side bars on tomorrow and start building the boat sides. Spare tire mock up...

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

Looks good, I love that style corner gusset btw. Thanks man they take a little longer but they are well worth it. We are all done welding the top portion of the cage now and it is time to transfer it onto the bronco chassis. Almost done drawing up the rest of the cage work on bend tech and than we ...

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

So got the motor running great again and after taking the bronco out a couple times I decided it needed some changes. Crawling it sucks due to lack of visibility and body damage. I was not really happy with the safety of the cab cage that I bought it with. Also I really want to race it and the best ...

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

So been super busy lately and haven't had time to touch the bronco, but after next weekend I will be working hard on it for Halloween!! I have some questions that I have been trying to figure out though. I am going to re valve the shocks for this trip and I want to put 30/30 valves in the coil overs...

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

Okay so going to be fixing the motor in the next couple weeks and getting it ready for Halloween weekend. My plan is to back half it after Halloween so I can start tuning my shocks. I will be moving the fuel cell behind the seats and will be running two horizontal stacked spares in the rear. Reason ...

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

I just ordered a new set for the front of mine and the guy was saying 250 over 300 up front, I went with lighter initial valving and a bit heavier spring and ordered 300 over 400...I think. Nice man. We tried a couple different set ups on mine, but all of them had a tall ride height. 250 over 300 w...

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

Yeah I got very lucky that's for sure. I think I can just fix the valve and run it. You guys think that would work with that minimal piston damage? And it was around 85 at night and we left by 10 in the morning and it was 95. It was nice actually, but would have been hot by noon.

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

Well pulled the head today and found out the results. As soon as I pulled #3 cylinder rocker arm off the spring fell off. So looks like it dropped a valve and the piston hit it and bent it. Piston damage is minimal and the bore is perfect still. I think it could have been much worse, now time to fix...
