Re: Mike's 87 Silver Lake build
So, it's been a couple years since I have posted on here, still been lerking from time to time. My wife has been pushing me not to sell the bronco and finally gave me a big push this Christmas with a pile of parts to get the Bronco back on the road! I have new oil pan, valve cover, and exhaust manif...

If you haven't had any luck yet try Lane Automotive 1-800-772-5266 and ask for Ross.
I'll see what I can do to help you out.

Re: Mike's 87 Silver Lake build
No real updates yet but I am going to be picking up a whole ttb (hub to hub) here soon to replace the top hat situation :) However work this winter will be limited, going to surprise my dad with a new suspension set up on his jeep. Skyjacker soft ride leafs and rancho rs9000xl shocks...looking to so...

Go fast parts, where to get them from?
I know what I'm looking for as far a parts, well kind of. What I am in need of is some contact info, specifically southwest for info on cut and turns and also where I can find deaver springs? I have tried searching the site but due to me only having a phone right now it is kinda a pain in the rear.....

Re: Mike's 87 Silver Lake build
Yeah I think I have a bit more of an issue than that. I have done that before and had one bell of a time figuring out why it was leaking so bad.

Re: Mike's 87 Silver Lake build
Well been a while since I have updated. Finally got the bronco on the road this past weekend just to have to park her before I could make it to the dunes. The problem with the clutch was figured out when part of the clutch push rod fell off the pedal assembly. Got that replaced and bleed the brakes ...

Re: Tire Pressure
wow I feel way out of the loop here but I guess I'll have to play around a little once my rig is actually done. But in the sand I play in I'm anywhere from 8-14psi with my toyo open country A/T's and my BFgoodrich A/T's.

Re: Over the head v.s. behind the head
Judge it off of comfort. I wore a com set up that squeezed my head so tight it gave me a head ache while stuck in a car for a few thousand miles. It sucked. Comfort is king. Talk to the folks at PCI I bet they'll let you try a bunch on before buying. I agree with the comfort 100% I haven't had to w...

Well finally got some parts to start the rebuild/build up of the bko. For the time being the plans are to get it road worthy and sell my POS daily driver of a car. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y31/kchsbandgeek06/Bronco%20Build/IMAG0055_zpsb55eaaa9.jpg New clutch http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Mike's 87 Silver Lake build
I'm not worried to much about dust and such, being a dune toy in the making there will be sand every where anyways. But I've had those bad boys soaking in penetrating fluid for a few weeks now and when I put a socket on the nut there they just spun.

Did you wind up doing anything with those holes afterwards or just leave em be for repairs down the road?

Re: Mike's 87 Silver Lake build
So anyway the real reason for the update is I started to pull the drive shafts and what not out so I could get the transmission out of the way to swap flywheels today. Nothing really exciting picture wise. But I do have a question, any tips on how to get a wrench on the top of the bolts that hold th...

Both of those last replies damn near hit what I was thinking right on the head. Some pictures of mounting locations of those systems would be sweet if you have any!

Re: Fire Extinguisher onboard systems?
Thats kind of the idea that I'm getting from other sources. But the systems installed in the race cars built at the gf's dads shop have small 2-5lb units set up to spray the drivers compartment. So I was thinking of something kind of like that for under the hood along with a couple mounted in the ca...
