Gun-It Racing at HDRA Dusk til Dawn in Primm NV
Gun-It Racing at HDRA Dusk til Dawn in Primm NV
We raced the Bronco at the HDRA Dusk til Dawn race last weekend as a good shake down for the Baja 1000.
We used the opportunity to let everyone get behind the wheel and to have the team practice pit stops. That part all went well but our race ended with a broken spindle and we had to leave the car out on the course for the night.
Here are some pics:

Damn that sucks Dave! How did the CVs hold up? How were you doing up to that point?

Sorry to hear, parts failure is frustrating. So how come the front half of your Bronco is clean in the pictures? Looks like your crew ran out of time. Good photos though. Git'em next time.

To answer a ll your questions:
The spindle just snapped
There was no bearing failure
We did not hit a rock but there were hundreds of sharp edged rain ruts on the course because of he recent rains
CV's had a couple of issues that we are working out
We were doing well and leading our class before the break
Our sponsor sells pressure washers and they suggested the half clean / half dirty look

Bummer to hear on the spindle. That's crazy to see the 300m shear like that without other major failure.
As for the paint - my guess was it was something to do with the sponsors but didn't know why/what the deal was.

Did you run the new rear spring? How did it hold up?
