I wonder if I can get to this place by Moto to camp?
Yes a good ride on bikes. You used to be able to take some single track out and catch a steep decent into Big Pine from up there that was lots of fun. Not sure if you could climb it with camp gear on your bike though from that side.
Thanks Yikes for a trip back home with the pics!
A friend of mine takes the Big Pine route on his bike a couple times a year. He says quads and side by sides may be difficult. I never gone that way, but will one of these years.

Ok..
I can just take the bronco.

Any ideas when a fall run would be happening.. It may even be a little cooler, temperature wise

Bike would be a blast and someone could haul your gear. Route from Big Pine has a soft narrow section on a side hill at the top that might be tough for full sizes. Jeeps and EBs have to be careful not to slide off it, so might ought to go up the Bishop side and look at it first from the top before going all that way up and have to turn around. If doable we could go down that way going out and make it a loop.

The aspens start changing up high (Coyote) in mid to late Sept, but it can vary a bunch based on the temps. The last weekend in Sept (29-30) could work for me, but just tossing that out there. Should i start on the Pit books? Haha!

a fall trip would be awesome but I'd have to be out. I'm getting hitched Sept. 29th & don't free up til the end of Oct. pretty much. Have been meaning to camp up this way for a while though.

Pop out of ether? That one went over my head.

And yes, I do expect it to be better than the month of and approaching my wedding. I better not stay this busy after! Well, at least until kids come around I guess. As of now I have something every damned weekend. I don't function well without time in the shop or to do trips like this!

What an absolutely gorgeous place! What did you guys catch?
Funnel and Rocky bottom both just have Rainbow. I've always been told there are Brown's, but have never caught one. I caught the biggest average ever this year. Usually get 8-12" out of both lakes, but we hit 12-16" monsters all day long this time. Was awesome!!

What an amazing trip. I have been wanting to camp out of my Rhino for a while now and you have inspired me. As for the "12-16" Monsters".... The proof is in the pictures. Show me the fish! ha ha... No pictures=Fish story!
