Re: Kritter's 96 Bronco
Its been a while since we updated this thread with any pics so i pulled it out to start gettin it ready for baja 1000 duties and possibly put it up for sale afterwards since broncos are going for so much money that are not near as well equipped or proven as my own.

Re: Kritter's 96 Bronco
I wish we would have more guys post or do updates on this style of build. It is still a all out build set up to be more street friendly VS race style.

Re: Kritter's 96 Bronco
i have them made out of a company in Fresno I work with regularly. They build to print so its easy to just design them and shoot them the print. Ive always had great luck with them. My first set were Deavers and after breaking both of them on a baja 500 prerun at not even halfway which ruptured my floor board and severed my fuel fill hose, I said never again. The q80 is a little bit better than the F53 but nothing currently exists and definitively didnt exist in 2010 for sale that has all the features I wanted in a pack so i just designed it myself. The sets pictures are a 3rd revision from my original design in 2010 and I am excited to test them out at the 1000.apache41 wrote:Love the build, who makes the rear springs you are using?
Also the goon wagon of durka has a new 3" wide design i made for his rig since its a tank and he was running leafs and coilovers to get the thing high enough in the rear under the load he carries.

Re: Kritter's 96 Bronco
Thanks for the feed back. I currently am building the bronco with Deaver Q80's but my rear is too low. I have a set of Kings with different coils coming from Solo to set the front ride height hopefully this will help, but I fear the Q80's are too soft. I'd love to hear how these new springs hold up for you and if you would be willing to broker a sale if they work out. Good Luck on the Pre-running and race, I wish I was closer. I'll be in Mexico for work next week but that is in Silao.

Re: Kritter's 96 Bronco
Some more morning dump spam...new leaf revision went in smooth. Rear shackle bushings were a little hammered so I replaced the sleeves and used an uber high end grease I bought just for U joints. HOpefully this pack is proven in baja this next week and its something I might start to offer for sale on my website or possibly talk to a couple bronco specific shops to see if they want to carry them.
Its also nice to have a real skid plate so I am not chaning out gas tanks as part of seasonal prep and also have a nice low spot to jack the rear up from for drooping out the rear.

Also since I always forget numbers...rear ride height is 10" "axle tube(3.5" tube) to frame with full fuel, full spares, full gerry cans on bumper exactly as shown. Travel is 18" metal to metal strapped, rarely does it go to full droop, rarely does it hit the bumps unless two people are in the rear and 100 beers in the back.

What's up with the pair of front calipers in one of your earlier pics? Eventually swapping those on the front?

I'd be interested in the leaf packs if you decide to sell them. This is one of my favorite builds of all time.

You detail this in your RDZ ad Kris:
F350 double cardan front drive shaft so no vibes with hubs locked on highway
Can you elaborate just a bit? I get this and I'd like to implement soon for the exact same reason.

Re: Kritter's 96 Bronco
replace the T case yoke with one from a F350 with 1356 tcase ad get a NOS driveshaft from a F350 off ebay and install. Easy install and no vibe. There is a vibration TSB for all broncos that lists the yokes and part numbers for driveshafts and anybody who complained of vibration with hubs locked on highway.1Hondalover wrote:You detail this in your RDZ ad Kris:

Do you know the model year(s) of F350 d/s to use Kris? The TSB doesn't say:
