80 - 96 fuel flap door bolts.

Post by AussieRod »

I need a half dozen 80 - 96 fuel flap door bolts. They are some weird thread no-one stocks in my neck of the woods. If you have any, let me know.

I can go look at our junk yard, if your willing to post up those measurements you said you would on the coil buckets.

I can look in my junkyards too - what size wrench do I need to take them off?

I get home Wednesday coming (I hope), I'll measure them and post them up. Sorry, I forgot all about it.

I’m not sure if I’m understanding exactly what you need. I looked at my local yard and all of the fuel doors are attached to the body by some riveted studs. When I look on the backside, there are some nuts there but they’re definitely larger than 8 mm or 5/16. Is that what you’re looking for?

I think only the 80 - 86 have 2 very small thread bolts holding the flap to the bedside, with an 8mm hex head. Later ones are riveted (I think). My 84 F100 and my brother's 82 Bronco both have the small 8mm hex bolts holding the fuel flap door on. Hope that helps.

It seems I'll be home Sunday instead. They have extended my stay, so as soon as I get home and have 5 mins, I'll pull one out of the rack and take pics and measurements for you.

OK - that makes sense. I didn't look at any of those trucks yesterday - only the 87-91 trucks and 92-96 models and they were all riveted. I saw your title said 80-96 so I assumed they might all be the same. I'll keep looking!

So did I, apparently. The later 87 on must be riveted.

Ok - I got half a dozen of the screws for you yesterday. Been a long time since I’ve sent anything to Australia so send me a DM with your info and I’ll see about options in getting them to you.

If they do a soft pack (bubble wrap protected envelope), that should suffice. Let me know what it's cost you and I'll paypal you (I'll pay all fees).

Semi late to the party here, but Rod, I can play master postman again if needed = Todd can send them here and I can send you everything in one box. Just let me know. Oh, and it may take a bit for me to reply due to schedule right now - which I'm sure you've noticed on your last PM Rod! I signed in just now to finally get to that

@ Chasetruck754: That'll work for me if it's ok with Todd.

@ Toddz69: Let me know what I owe you and I'll fix it up once I get home.

Thanks for the help, guys.

I've not long got home from 10 days at the mine and I'm wrecked. At 60, it's hard work with the 12 hour+ days and 100 degree days. I have a day off tomorrow, so once I get the F100 out of the garage in the morning, I'll pull a coil bucket and throw you some measurements as promised.
