400+ psi on compression test

Post by Coveredwagonoverland »

Hi everyone,

New member, obviously,

Tried to search through the forums but couldn’t get an exact answer: anyone know what exact replacement oem valve spring (exhaust) is for a 1984 Ford Bronco XLT 351w HO? Have searched through rock auto, Napa, autozone, jegs, etc and haven’t found an aftermarket spring that matches oem specs?

I’m only doing one spring/pushrod/lifter etc, it’s reading over 400psi comp test and firing back out the carb which is telling me that the exhaust valve isn’t opening.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help,
Max

I would think as long as it meets or exceeds the factory specs it should be good? As long as it doesnt coil bind and it keeps the valves closed it should be good right?
