Why not make this a paid site? clsssicbroncos.com is paid to upload pics - to me if you can’t swing $10 a year in something you love - well you need to work more lol!

I think making it paid would have the opposite effect. There are enough places to get the pics & info for free (although info may not be as good of course), that users would drop off even more if they had to pay.

Re: Was it something I said?
Bumping a little bit of an old thread, but I have been a lurker off and on for quite a while, now on Bronco #3.
I’d like to see an update to the look. Please add native image hosting, and let us edit our posts.
Tacomaworld.com is a good example of a forum that is still thriving. Add the ability to “like” posts. It brings some fo the social media vibe here for those that like that.
Something I’ve noticed from this forum vs others, there is a very large disparity between views and comments. A LOT of people read without interacting. Not such a big deal, as most replies tend to be constructive which is nice.
I’d be happy to contribute a paid membership annually to help facilitate these updates.

Re: Was it something I said?
This is mainly to admins.... I would love to help out with this site if possible. Not saying take over but I would love to try to bring this forum back to life. I like the idea of bringing over some Social media like vibes here. I have IT background. I don't mind putting my time into this as time permits. I would also like to bring back shirts and maybe some other Merch. that I think would be cool. Just an idea Feel free to PM me if you would like to discuss more. I come to this site just about everyday M-F while i'm at work haha... I get quite a bit of down time!

Guys, the floundering fathers will have a meeting of the minds. Lots of great suggestions! Thanks for being patient with us!

Re: Was it something I said?
Few things pushed me off of the site. Still my fav bronco site though
Mega builds and checkbook builds consumed the traffic. I know I'm broke. I dont need reminders.
Certain senior member had the opinion that he's done it all and driven more miles in the dirt. If he didn't do it you shouldn't discuss it. Rubbed me wrong
Like Nick said you guys all knew each other before the site. Tried to bullshit and chat a few times at the swapmeet and on runs but never got into the fold. That carried over to the forum
I hope it comes back to life. I love bench racing online

It's my kind of art. You can tell when someone puts passion into the work, vs just slapping it together. Even if the owner is just laying out the cash, it's nice to see the fabricator's work shared and appreciated.

Not sure who you're referring to, but i haven't received that notion, and i started here as a young lad, and i'm sure i came off as such. Still always been treated well by everyone here.

That carried over to the forum Felt this way once at KOH, when i was left in the dust as the crew zipped through the whoops, and i was stuck trundling slowly in my more or less stock XJ. Then i realized that if i had the same amount of suspension, i would do the same thing. That and if you have a radio, someone will always check in and do a headcount every so often. The more active you are in any group, the better you get to know people. Everyone I've met here, then met in person has been awesome and welcoming. Stay here, stay active, i cringe when i watch posts on the bronco FB pages lol.

Re: Was it something I said?
since we're talking about this, something like a watched or subscribed threads link would be cool too. It shows you which threads you've commented on that have new posts in a quick and easy to find spot. I know this forum isn't quite as active as TW, but these little things make for a nice experience.

Re: Was it something I said?
To me the dynamic changed. When I started it was about getting together and having a good time. Whether that be hanging out in the desert or a meet up. It got to the point where it seemed there was a pissing match. Its been years since I've been on this site, although I still talk to a couple of people. My deal was this, if I had questions people more knowledgeable than myself would offer advice and support. Then as time progressed it was judged. People talking down on others, and internet fabbers finally got to me. Yes it can be ignored, however, why? I deal with enough in my job and life that I came here to get away from all that. It'd be neat to see the site for what it was back when it was original.
I'm just here for the views. It helps me feel wanted.

Yeah, I'm good. Busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest with work, so I haven't had the time to finish the truck off completely. Re: Was it something I said?
As it’s been stated previously, IG has really taken over. I prefer Forums, you find much more detailed pictures and information on the builds, and people are much more likely to respond to questions. IG seems to garner more attention and interaction, but it’s rare to find people genuinely interested in sharing knowledge and helping the community out, most can’t be bothered to respond to comments/questions. That could also be because they get the same 10 questions from people about their build because the information is buried in the caption of a specific picture posted 6 months ago instead of listed earlier on in a thread.
The popularity of IG can be seen as a negative, but it has played a part in the growth of the Bronco community as well. Why not harness that power more effectively? I know GFB has an IG account, you could highlight the build threads on here by posting pictures of them with a link to the respective threads. Things like that could tie social media into the forum a bit and hopefully bring more activity here. I love GFB and hope it takes off with the bronco-boom that we’re seeing
