Yep that is me, things are coming right along, beams are under the truck radius arms are under the truck working on the super custom bolt on coilover mounts now. hopefully have them in by the weekend. gotta do a little work in the rear to get the rear to sit a little lower. i just ordered a new radiator for the truck today as well. the stock single row just was not cutting it anymore.

Thought it might be you. Digging the quick progress. I wish I could get stuff done that quickly.
For the rear is a longer shackle the answer?

i am going to take a leaf out and there is a wedge in there that i am removing. i already have a longer than stock shackle. if i go longer i will have to cut into the bed, which i do not want to do. the wedge and removing the rear wedge i think will put it right where i want it.

Out of curiosity, in you guys' opinion what is better for a do-all rig, an OBS extended cab short bed F150 4x4, or a Bronco? My dad might be picking up an F150 or Bronco soon and he wants to build something that will see mostly street use but some mild trail use and camping. I like my Bronco because I can haul all my gear inside and sleep in the back, but guess you could argue the same about a F150 with a shell. So what does everyone think?

If you have more then two people, the Bronco, but if there is just you and someone else, the F150 is better long travel in the rear if you link it with coilovers and you can haul more stuff with the truck. Now don't get me wrong, I love my Bronco when off roading and 5 of us in it having fun. But now that I have the F350, it is nice to have a bed to take big stuff when needed. Also, my F350 does ok off roading in the dunes and Baja, but not like the Bronco. I would love to fully cage, long travel TTB and link my Crew Cab. It is fun in the dunes with several people in the truck.

Yeah whatever he gets won't be getting the long travel treatment. It would mainly be used as a daily and occasionally use the 4wd while hauling stuff on the ranch, very light towing, and mild trails. Honestly before my Bronco I was in the market for an OBS F150 or F250 short bed extended cab 4x4, but never could find any I could afford with everything I wanted. Don't get me wrong I love Broncos, this is my 2nd Fullsize Bronc and I had a B2 at one point as well, but it's nice to be able to have a bed where you can throw anything in and not worry about it

I had a 92 extended cab shortbed 4x4. I loved that truck.
With the shell I could load a shit ton of stuff back there and keep it locked. I could lay down an air mattress in the bed and be very comfortable. I got some old carpet from a house and cut it to fit in the bed. It had the 5.0 with a 5 speed. Not the most powerful motor and that 5 speed was geared so low. The 5.8 is the way to go. Night and day difference between that truck and my bronco.
The bronco is much more fun off-roading in stock form at least. Don't know about a built F1 vs built bronco. I tried sleeping in the back of the bronco and it was way too cramped (I'm 6').
I ended up having to get another truck because I needed the bed to run parts. Much easier to load axles, fenders, oily/greasy parts, plywood, anything longer than 4'.

Well I have finished up the 14 day build, truck sure has come a long way. Time to stretch her legs out in the dirt a little and drive her 200 miles home from the Dezert.

The Dronco, that thing was on Craigslist for sale for years. I would have changed it to a Autofab fiberglass front end personally. The fab work inside looks good. My main issue was not the Dodge front end, but the fit and body lines don't match or even transition well at all.

At a glance it's alright, took me a second to pin point what was wrong. But agree it looks way off and the angle of the front end is too sureWrightracing.net wrote:The Dronco, that thing was on Craigslist for sale for years. Snap On does a Seat Swap with Menzies and Pedregon- pretty cool.
Menzies brings the trophy truck to the drag strip and runs a 10.5 in the quarter mile

Insane that thing runs that 10.5 at like 7000 pounds! He gets passed like literally he's sitting still!
