Auction: FALLEN WARRIOR-FUND RAISER

Post by SteveG »

All,

I am volunteering my employer to raise some funds for this fallen warrior. I am auctioning 2, newly redesigned RH5R handheld radios (https://www.ruggedradios.com/index.php? ... ts_id=1274). Anything this raises is fine by me, so start the bidding low. If you decide you simply want to send a few bucks and forego the auction, send funds to gofastbroncos@gmail.com via PayPal, gift. Anything will help. Please, if you have anything you can spare, send it. The goal here is to support this family in their time of need, so I'll remain flexible. The winner can send funds to gofastbroncos@gmail.com (PayPal GIFT), send them directly to the GoFundMe page, directly to the family... whatever. I just want it to get to them. Know that if funds are sent to gofastbroncos.com, I will do everything I can to send directly to the family to avoid any fees.

Bid what you can, and bid often. Depending on what the closing bid is, I will include some bonus accessories, goodies... you just never know.

Please see the message below, taken fro the GoFundMe page for Chris Carlisle, 1st Sgt USMC (Ret), who recently lost his live during the Vegas To Reno race last weekend. I listened to this unfold over the radio while working the race, and I have to tell you, even without knowing his specific condition as it was happening, it is absolutely heartbreaking. Now, knowing how it all ends, it's hard to come home and not think of him as I look at my own children and my wife. Life is short, my friends. Make the best of it.

Chris Carlisle, 1st Sgt USMC (Ret) went to his glory on August 18, 2017. Chris was well known for his bravery during his 3 tours in OEF/OIF, where he received a Purple Heart after suffering combat wounds while serving with 3/5. Chris lost his life while racing with the Warrior Built organization in the Vegas to Reno event in a tragic dirt bike accident.

Many people knew Chris as a Marine - but he was so much more- a devoted father who loved his son Dylan and two daughters Megan and Hailey; a loving son to his parents Melinda and Mike; the oldest sibling, role model and "leader of the pack" to Brian, Dana, Kimee, and Tyler; a fun-loving uncle to his 7 nieces and nephews, and a loyal friend to many. His faith in God and love for helping others made him incredibly special to those who knew him. Chris was passionate about helping other Marines, and additionally served with the Wounded Warrior and Mighty Oaks programs.

Chris' mom Melinda has taken on the emotional and financial burdens of transporting his remains from Nevada back to California, as well as the burial and funeral costs. It is the desire of friends of the family as well as her other children that she not be burdened by this cost in this time of incredibly heartbreaking loss. Any additional funds will be placed in trust for his daughters college expenses.

I will end the Kenwood TK790H race radio on Friday?
This is a great chance to upgrade one of the best 110 watt race radios
on the market.

No worries, David. Thank you for the donations and for the auction attempt.

Rick, it looks like you’re the proud owner of a couple new handhelds. What do you want programmed into them? The standard list our of the Maratracs?
