I'm a big V-10 fan with factory 4.30 gears if I was to put my 2cents in!

About a month ago a close friend of mine decided he really wanted to get a toy house trailer exactly like mine so of coarse naturally I made him a deal and sold it to him and his GF. So that drove the demand for me to pick up another trailer that was bigger with a front sleeper that being said we found a clean 30fs weekend warrior. I thought the 7.3l would tow it no problem well when I picked it up I learned it was really heavy. So that drove me to find a truck better suited to tow like a more modern superduty. We have a couple 2013 6.7l chase, work trucks they run great and have plenty of power but get terrible mileage. I found a 2016 I was ready to buy it was a done deal loaded I was ready to drive off the lot then the sales man pissed me off so I walked you gotta watch those sneaking bastards I was in sales for many years so I know the games. Well long story short a friend of mines Grandfather owns a ford dealership down here (El Cajon Ford) so I literally drove straight there and said these are the options I must have no compromise and sure enough they had the truck I wanted it was a 2017 though. Which are still new but look cool. So I went and drove that thing. It drove better than my loaded ecoboost, has tons of power and I get high teens fuel mileage. So I guess moral of the story if you are shopping for a diesel go drive the new aluminum body superduty or don't let your friends talk you into selling your perfectly good trailer. lol

Ya it does fine with about 8k-10k behind it but 15k really makes it unhappy. And the frames on the 7.3l definitely do not have much shear strength meaning height of the frame and just frame strength in general. I have not sold the 7.3l yet and considering keeping it for mexico truck because of DEF issue on newer trucks down south.

once the warranty expires tune+ delete it, you will gain a ton of mileage and free up more power. I was a ford diesel tech, got out right around the time the 6.7 had been out about a year. i LOVE this motors, they suck to work on, but man, the power is next level.

agree, i had a lot of issues with customer vehicles coming from mex, get an in bed diesel tank and fill up before you cross the border if you can.

So I have done a little more research and not nearly as worried about DEF in mexico. Most of the DEF issues are from people not being prepared. Well anyways I love the alumiduty and this past weekend I spent a couple hours installing the leveling kit. We went with Icon springs and fox shocks and the ride is awesome. Then thank you to some awesome friends at great companies we have KMC Machetes and General Grabber X3s and I could not be happier. This week once it dries up a little down here I'll get it detailed and we will do a photo shoot.
