So I get another Bronco project to bring home and have a little incident. Swapping out dash for a friend so I am towing donor Bronco to my house to work on it and keep whatever I want when I'm done. So this thing has all good dark tinted windows a and a cherry top. You guys see where I'm with this. The guy never bolted the top back on the Bronco. They will take flight at approximately 35 mph.I had it on trailer towing it backwards as such. I was on a county road so not much traffic. It did a flip and blew off into the dirt. It did not break or scratch any of the glass! it did bust up the top though.
I was wondering if this has happened to anybody else? I can't be the first guy!

Re: I lost my lid!
We were on a 4x4 trip with Poly Goats and one 79 bronco in group took his top off a lot and only had about 3 or 4 bolts holding it down. In the Chevron parking lot at Gorman the wind was blowing like crazy and ripped that sucker off when he rolled the back window down and launched it across the parking lot. Luckily nobody or expensive cars were in the way. Lesson use all the bolts you can.

Man, it does get windy up near that Gorman exit!
Never had the top fly off...but I am a bit embarrassed to admit that I've had the hood fly up on me when driving. Pulled out of an Autozone, where I had just replaced my starter solenoid, and in my rush didn't check to see if the hood was properly closed. When it came up, I wasn't going too fast (maybe about 20mph), but it overextended the hood hinges and I actuallly had to bang them with a hammer to get them to close correctly. D'oh!

I've been losing my lid for years. It's resulted in less maintenance, which I like. Alot!
