The elusive bfg bronco
There has been much talk of the bfg bronco on several forums, but i've yet to read what it really has. And pics of it seem to very few. So, i'm on a hunt, who has info/pics of the bfg bronco?

I can help out on some of the histroy of that truck. It was originally built by Spirit racing. I was originally an older style Bronco 87 - 89 body style IIRC. The truck was reskinned and an updated interior to a 94 style. It had a three seat configuration with seating by Master Craft, Pull out tool boxes on either side of the rear seat. It held two spares in the back with other supplies. Drive shafts were made by East County Drive shaft, Rear end is built by Currie and has the speed sensor mounted in the housing. The engine is a 351 out of a lightening backed up by a E4OD trans. On the radius arms you see extra gusseting that was after the truck was built. The radius arms bent at that piont so Spirit added gusseting there. I think the gears were 4.56. The suspension is the standard Spirit kit front and rear with their two link system. Springs were National Springs at the time. Limit straps are Spirit's version using cable. Works very well. I think Hanson muffler did the exhaust. The cage inthe truck is bushing mounted and the bumpers were built by Spirit too. This truck was originally built for Dan Newsome at BFG. The truck has been to other fab shops since being built as there have been some minor changes. At the time I think the suspension cost about 10k and the cage was about 15k. One thing I do know is this truck WORKED when it left. Very nice build by Spirit as this truck has held up to over 300K mile and most of them have been off road. Never got pics of this vehicle as digital cameras were not around at the time.

We saw it at the 1000 this year at Borrego, and looked like it was still working well!!
