I'm saving up for the Savage Scout in .308. It will eventually get a MDT LSS with Magpul furniture and the same scope my Lee Enfield carbine has on it.

What do you guys think of the Diamondback DB15? Looking at the FDE model with 16" barrel from Turners, either gonna buy that or something similar off the shelf. Kinda wanna build one but I looked into it and the quality parts I'd wanna use don't save me much if any

Here is a good review on the DB15. To me it seems like a good tactical gun, but if you are looking for long distance accuracy, that is not the gun for the job. The DB15 looks like a good self defence rifle. Then a 308 would make a great second rifle to have for long distance shooting or hunting. In my bug out bag is an AR pistol in 5.56mm, Glock 27 in .40 and I want to get a 308 for hunting.

That will be a sweet set up Rod. The MDT quality is impressive. The only dislike I have with the TAC21 is the finger port for the safety...access is difficult and not quick. May have to machine a revised lever to make it easier. Aside from that, extremely pleased.

Yeah, major bummer on the safety port snafu. Personally, I rarely, if ever use the safety on any of my guns. On the LE's and the Rem AAC SD, In just lift the bolt handle when ever I'm not actually shooting, nor do I put my finger on the trigger unless I'm about to fire. Each to their own. :)

Yeah seems pretty good. And the chromoly barrel and forged parts are nice. Gonna go look at the DB15 and the Bushmaster XM-15 at Turners today after class if I have time, if I do I'll probably buy one today.

Ended up buying the Bushmaster, they no longer sell the Diamondback. I know Bushmaster makes quality guns tho so I'm happy. 10 days can't come sooner!

Last Sunday, my best mate and I went over to my block to have a sight-in session for his 35-06 he bought off my Dad. I took my Lee Enfield carbine and tried some new loads, which impressed me a lot.

Not too bad for a $100 gun made out of bits and pieces. ;)

Nice Rod! We just shot my my dad's WWI Enfield 30-06 last week. He shot a nice 4" group at 130yds. Those old sights and his old eyes are still dialed.

Here's my last 5 after sighting in. This was at 130 as well. The 308 shoots so nice.

Well done! My Dad, with his favorite Lee Enfield No1 Mk3 and Aussie made Mk7 ammo can still hold a 2" group at 200 yds. He is 75 now, and HIS eyes aren't too good either, but that's pretty good. Your Dad still has it too. Good on him :D
