Only about 6 years behind schedule, construction has begun. The goal? Big and fast with a "big show" jump. So far it's looking really good. My good friend Aaron that helped me with the tractor work had the great idea of incorporating "Steel Pipe" (where we store our scrap steel). It's big but smooooth and controllable. Exactly what we were looking for.

I have a traxxes slash it's a fun car just to mess around with but not for the track I've taken it once and the day I took it half the car fell apart I've had to replace most of the stock parts from cracking from simple jumps and some roll overs

Im diggin my new bronco body too bad the tranny ate a bearing. So now it eats spur gears. Doesnt help with the 11.1 lipo and the clutch tightened all the way. But broncos look cool doing wheelies.

Many year's ago I use to work for E&L Racing that owned the Del Mar RC race track next to the Fair Grounds. I worked in the shop and at the races. I also raced for Losi when the first electric race type 2wd Losi JRXT came out. That was back in 1986 and 87.

I got out of it when I built my first Real Dune buggy. My first buggy was a basket case someone never finished for $500. The funny thing was with all my RC stuff I had more into it than my first Buggy.

What size and platforms are people racing now days. Does Losi have a competitive Nitro Truck . Are people racing 4wd or 2wd or which is more popular in a pro modified class.

It depends on what you wanna race really.. I race 1/10th short course trucks, both 4x4 and 2x4. Some dudes race 1/5th scale short course, and some dudes race 1/8th scale buggy.

RC Car Thread... Where'd it go!?

Post by SteveG »

I seriously cannot find the RC car thread....

Well I thought I was mostly over it, but as I prep my SC10 for Matea to use, I find myself reeeeaaaaaalllly drawn to the new
RC10SC5M, which is basically a very refined SC10. Hey, she needs someone to race!

Back in the late 1980's I use to work for E&L Racing, the RC car track next to the Del Mar Fair grounds. Ed and Linda were great
At getting the National Competitions to come to town. I raced for Team Losi when the first XXT Trucks first came out and Team Associated was converting the RC10 to race in the 2wd truck class we started.

If I didn't have to many other hobbies, I would love to get a 1/8 scale 4x4 nitro truck, like a Traxxas or something like it.

Post by cs_drums »

The RC10SC5M is the bees knees from everyone I have talked to. I had a Sc10, SC10 4x4 now I have a traxxas slash 2wd built from the ground up. After having 4x4 it's hard to go back to 2wd. I really want to drive a 5m before I invest.
