If I didn't have to many other hobbies, I would love to get a 1/8 scale 4x4 nitro truck, like a Traxxas or something like it.

I don't need more hobbies and I was all but done with this one, but now that my baby is getting into it... well, you know.

I've never driven one but it looks bad ass and a friend that is heavily involved in RC says they drive awesome. It's just gonna be spendy... we'll see.

The crawlers are a lot of fun. I take both mine and my sons everywhere with us never know when your gonna find a fun spot.

I'm thinking of selling my slash and getting the Axial Trophy Truck

TTs are pretty nice. I have one. I also have an RC4WD Hardcore kit. It's a 2WD solid axle TT. Lots of guys building some impressive desert RCs.

My Losi 8ight 3.0 and my sons Losi Mini 8ightT. We mostly just bash at the Silver Lake sand dunes. We were HPI guys, but parts were near impossible to get for my Vorza Flux so we're all Losi now

Bashing on the dunes with paddles is seriously the best... love it!

Oh I couldn't agree more! We primarily only bash in the dunes and the paddles just add more fun to the equation. I've held off putting paddles on the 8ight 3.0 in fear of destroying the drivetrain from the added stress. I ran paddles on my HPI blitz with a Momba monster and 3s Lipo combo, but it would just destroy spur gears, driveshafts, and transmission gears. I finally got sick of it and moved on. I had over a grand into a 2wd truck that wouldn't take the abuse of high speed sand bashing. Plus I simply cannot resist riding wheelies for 100's of yards and that beats them up pretty good. I also messed up and got my son a HPI wheely king and didn't leave it stock. I ran 2s lipos and put lockers in the diffs, which in turn broke axle shafts and driveshafts left and right. SOOOOOO that's why we moved onto 4wd buggies and are trying to leave them close to stock. Nothing worse than constantly working on your RC's in the middle of the dunes sweating your ass off and getting sand into everything. So far, the buggies have held up really well. Plus the 8ight 3.0 has no problems riding wheelies with 4s Lipos.
