Both those guns are no nos in CA...

The 50 cal is completely legal in CA, It falls under the bolt action category, single shot rifle, unless one of the new laws coming out targeted the caliber or the fact that it is Black and as all smart people know that Black guns are more dangerous.

As for the AK, if he removes the hi capacity magazine and adds a bullet button, he would be good.

Wouldnt the barrel on the AK have to be longer as well? If I remember right when building my AR i had to have at least 16" barrel length. Is it different for other rifles?

Solution.......

Move to AZ... No smog, no silly 10 round clip laws, no rust police.... AussiRod.. Wtf cops that hit you up for rust????
Not much traffic, put a license plate on pretty much anything.....
73 right now... Cold beer, colorado river.... 10000 mi of off road trails with out any traffic....

Or we can go wake boarding.... blow stuff up, shoot guns, campfire, off road races..
2 BITD next month... Hunt, hike, enjoy nature, clean air, fish, etc...

All while being safe to the environment for our kids to enjoy for years to come....

I thought they stopped allowing new ones in around 2006? That particular AK is on the name list so it would have to be grandfathered to be legal. The 75 round drum is def a no no.

Rounds are around $6 each.

The barrel on that AK is over 16 inches from the bolt face in firing position. It just looks short next to the Armalite.

Because the stock is not a pistol grip it passes for CA. It would have to have a 10 round mag, need to be 16" barrel, magazine must need a tool to remove and the overall length must be 26".

The Assault Wepons ban on specific manufacturer's expired in 2004 but the required stuff is above. If you registered them prior to the ban in 1994 you can have a high capacity magazine that can be removed without a tool.

The stock is not as much an issue as it use to be prior to 2004 as long as it is 26 total with a collapsible stock in its shortest length.

Like I said. There may be new laws coming in the morning I have not seen yet for 2014. The rifle registration is dump.

If the rifle is not on the named specifically on the California Assault Weapon ban list then it can be sold in Kalifornia.

If it is not listed then a bullet button would need to be installed before entering Kalifornia. That way all of the evil features like a pistol grip and flash suppressor could be kept on it.

It's my understanding the flash suppressor would need to be removed and a muzzle brake could be installed, search cal compliant AK muzzle brake. You know the best part? It's not legal to mail order a cal compliant part lol I went through the same thing when I sold my sks. I was trying to transfer it to my friend and they had me jumping through hoops. I had to get my friend in Texas to order the part then ship it to me. But in the end I said screw it and just took the rifle to the gun shop and got 135$ for it which isn't too bad considering I payed 170$ for it.

As an individual it is a Federal felony to sell any gun to a resident of any state other than your state of residence.
For Arizona dealers like me it is illegal to sell a gun to a California resident because I have no way to comply with the 10 day waiting period. Federal law allows dealers to sell long guns to residents of any state that does not have local laws requiring special registration or a waiting period. Handguns can only be sold to residents of your state, whether dealer or individual.

That makes sense. Hence handling the transaction with a local gun shop. So, it's not the type of gun but rather the fact that it is an out of state transaction.

Front trunnion blew apart on this Egyptian Maadi. Sucks because it's the exact location of the serial and a pain to replace.

So it gets a new receiver, front trunnion, trigger assembly, furniture, and maybe one more american part so it's 922R compliant. Almost a new gun...
