Anyone want to trade.......fab skills for his lights??
Long shot guys, but I need/want some metal inner skins. Particular something to cover the ecu and the air box.
If anyone is interested in working something out, a set of projectors for a 92-9, HIDs, Motirola race radio...... In exchange or some tin work....lets talk!!!
I'm done with the plastics, I keep dropping them!! ha.

No skills to trade here, Tony, but you might ask someone that does HVAC work. Those guys are wizards with sheet metal and, in my experience, are really reasonably priced. They might not be able to weld it like you want but maybe break it for you?

I'll look into it tomorrow. Steel or aluminum? Steel will be way cheaper

Re: Anyone want to trade.......fab skills for his lights??
This should be fairly easy for anyone with reasonably fab skills.
If I didn't have 8 million other things going on I'd be open to helping out, but my plate is a bit full currently. Good thing multiple other guys surely seem to have this well under control.
My suggestion - save the templates and make a couple sets. Other guys will surely dig um & ask you to make more.
That being said - what gauge material are we talking here? I'd go .125" on aluminum or 16-18 ga. steel.
Oh and a roller would be cool for this to make that arc. I don't have one but can easily get my hands on one. As for the brake - I do have one of those - people are welcome to stop by & use it if needed. Unfortunately I don't really have the spare time to help if you do.

Re: Anyone want to trade.......fab skills for his lights??
I'm Game to help with some cash for materials, or what not. If it makes sense I make a few sets, I'm into that as well. Appreciate any/all if you looking into this.
Re: Anyone want to trade.......fab skills for his lights??
I was actually going to make the first one out of 1/8" or 3/16" stainless as that's what I'm accustomed to working with. I think I have a half of sheet of each in storage ill have to check later on in the week.
And yes I was planning on rolling some material to get that radius.

Re: Anyone want to trade.......fab skills for his lights??
Jose - if you're going stainless I'd look at 18 ga. Depending on the grade that stuff is STRONG for sure, and heavy. With that being said and the application of this I'd say stay thinner. Then again that is my opinion & it's not my truck or pocketbook. If you have the .125" already and no thinner stuff around then it fits the budget & go for it. I would NOT use the .188" stuff though for sure as .125" is already overkill IMO.

Ya. That was my thinking. But it's what I think I have. Point very well taken about overkill.
