SEMint 100+ Fun Runce

Hello All!
So what’s the SEMint 100+ Fun Runce! So what’s the SEMint 100+ Runce?? So those of us in the GFB community are pretty Southwestern US based, and many of us live and love the various off-road races. Many of us also ever year or so make a trek for the biggest auto geek fest which is SEMA! Many of us also enjoy the Mint 400 every Spring in Las Vegas! You put SEMA and Mint 400 (which is a 4 lap 100 mile race) and you get the SEMINT 100+ Fun Run/Race or.... Runce! So what’s the SEMint 100+ Fun Runce? My idea is simple, you get a bunch of like minded Ford TTB enthusiasts together for SEMA and take a break from that maylay to run at whatever speed you desire a lap (or 4) on the Mint 400 course! it’s just an unofficial event to put some faces to the screen names, gawk over each other’s rides and maybe meet up for dinner at a mid-level steakhouse after- we can make it up as we go along. If 10 or so guys could get together, have fun, play Offroad racer for a day, drive too fast for some enthusiastic fun peer rivalry in the desert that’s a success - hell we might do this yearly who knows!! The weather in the NV desert in November is cool and typically dry making for a great time! It’s about 196 days until November 3rd so that should be long enough to get a couple projects done on the ride and get an extra day off from the grind! Who’s up for the SEMint 100+ Fun Runce!!??

Interest very peaking here. I don't need to ask Wife's permission because she'll be with me!

Keep it going this sounds like exactly what I got a Bronco for.

I think we are going to have a killer time. One thing brought up to me is organization. This isn’t a paid kinda deal with a raffle and a catered dinner. There’s a couple LV guys that know the course pretty well so they can suggest logistics pretty well. As far as who’s invited- I’d like to keep it free of utvs, Tacoma’s, jeeps and such- kinda a FSB & 97 OBS TTB beamed prerunners. Another guy mentioned truck parameters to attend— i think the guys on this list or the ones I’ve messaged have pretty built trucks that stand in their own. Not to offend anyone but hopefully only built trucks attend. 100+ hard miles are tough and hopefully we can wear out some parts lol!! What I’m going to try and do over the next 195 days is come to a consensus whether you all want this to be pre or post SEMA, and come up with a GPS route of the Mint 400 course. This is gonna be a blast!

So after chatting with a few other guys the idea of a post SEMA SEMint 100+ seems to make sense which is November 6th-ish! So the real question is with 187 tentative days to the 1st SEMint 100+ - what have you been doing to prep your ride this week(end)?? How do you eat an elephant?? One bite at a time! Slowly click those big jobs off piece by piece and get ready for a great time!

160 Days until the 1st SEMint 100+!!! Yea it’s getting hot as hell out and the desire to do those projects sucks but a hour or two 2-4 times a week adds up to huge blocks of time and it’s all worth it! This is going to be one great non-event event!!

Yes SEMA is Tuesday November 3 to Friday November 6.....so you're thinking SEMint is Saturday? Cool if it was Friday.

I wonder if this event would be good to test a new 427? At least GearWorks won't be too far away.

Sadly not much traffic here Matt. But times are weird and seems folks don't plan in advance, so fingers crossed this can gain traction.

But it so pains me to write these words I despise.

Because of Others we have placed faith in and can only hope will deliver, I cannot yet fully commit to the SEMint.

Make no mistake.....this is a great idea and we hope to take part. To both have fun and camaraderie with TTB people, and twist the new powerplant.

We are engaged and following. Thank you for the effort.

Jim - the spirit of the SEMint is not competition but c camaraderie. So whether you show up with Robbie Gordon’s Roseanne, or the nice underground TTB tricked out Bronco- as long as you can tell the other guys you’ve prepped your rig for the fun of the day it’s all good! My main deal is just show up with a capable prepped truck - fortunately we aren’t driving Raptors and will need more than 11 1/2” where we are going!

Ok fellas we are 99 days away from the SEMint 100+!! So regardless of the actual SEMA show status November 7th is the day for all of us Ford TTB’ers to get together in the Nevada desert and swap some dirt and have a killer time!

So lets plan on meeting at the M Resort about 9am 11/7/2020. 12300 Las Vegas Blvd S, Henderson, NV 89044. There is Gas Bear & Ice. The North West parking lot has lots of room for tow rigs and trailer. We have used it before. Less then a 100 days
