Broncos and Bullets in Barstow

Post by dtbback »

Alright boys I think its time for a good little fun run. Robertcrav organized this trip last year and I think we should try and make this a semiannual thing. Bring your bronco, your pop toys, and most importantly yourself!

So here are the dates I have in mind:

3/20
3/27
4/10

Let me know what you think. Robertcrav can you throw up some pics from the last trip to get these guys drooling with anticipation.

Yes. Unless I'm on bonafide vacation, my Monday mornings require cease fire by 2PM on Sunday.

We're in for at least the Broncos part, although we do have the new Sigs.....

This will be our last thrash before final prep for Baja, so we'll be looking to burn some fuel.

I'm in for the Bronco's piece as well.....any interest in doing Ocotillo instead of Barstow... some pretty cool pics here from a trip that Shockseals did this weekend:

I kind of like the idea of doing Ocotillo, as long as there is a good place to shoot and a good place to eat. Barstow is hard on the equipment and with the 500 coming at the first part of June, it may not be the wise choice for some of us....cuz slow is not an option! Haha!

I've never done Barstow or Ocotillo. Is Barstow really that hard on equipment?

Yes Barstow is whoops and rocks...... so either you are going in and out of the whoops or you are pushing and getting on top.....

Here are some cool links for Oco:

didn't know you could shoot in ocotillo, got rolled pretty bad one year out there and bitched out by rangers, thankfully they told me not to shoot there anymore and let me keep my guns. Im gonna be in Chicago for work until the end of april or id love to head out and meet some of you guys....plus I just finished my KAC SR-15 and am itching to shoot it...took forever to source an upper!

I second Ocotillo! I was out there shooting a couple months ago and the BP said we could shoot whatever for all they care as long as we pick up after ourselves. I usually shoot up in the hills on the edge of Ocotillo, just off the 8.

After listening to everyone's feedback I agree that we should go to Ocotillo instead of Barstow on Saturday April 9th.

I'd like to ask for a volunteer to come up with a trail to a spot where we can go shooting and scarf some lunch.
