Ollie - I didn't see this answered so I'll take a shot.

Light House suites in Pismo is a pretty cool place. I stay there with my girlfriend and her family when we head up to visit here grand parents in Arroyo Grande. Light House is just above the beach (north of the pier) and has fun stuff (ping pong, putting green, oversized chess board, badmiton) on site if the kids are early teens or younger.

As for the weekend trip for the B-day bash. How do day passes work? From reading the thread it seems like there is a limit to number of vehicles in for camping. Is this the same for day passes? Do they close down the beach once a certain number of vehicles are in?

I've never been to the dunes but I drive by it a lot. LOVE it up there and might be swing the trip - but I wouldn't be able to commit this far in advance so I'd be a day pass type.

I'm still up in the air as I may be back east during this timeline.

Steve - can you answer the above, quoted question?

Yes. They do have a limit for the number of vehicles that can be on the beach. I'll be surprised if that weekend does NOT sell out. If you plan on attending I would make reservations. Even if you don't plan on staying on the beach I think it would be a good idea since it will allow you to stay out there as late as you want (the day pass is good until 11pm). On REALLY busy weekends the beach entrance is shut down until "X" number of vehicles leave. So,again, a night pass is cheap insurance as they will allow you to enter.

Does that answer everything?

I'm glad to see some renewed interest in this trip. Its going to be epic.

I'm in for sure and I'll be bringing along a few non Bronco friends for they're introduction into what Go Fast Bronco's are all about. Make your reservations soon gentlemen because you don't want to be left out of the fun.

I mentioned it when I saw him before the 250. He wasn't sure then. I'll keep pestering him though. It wouldn't hurt if you hit him up as well. I need all my buds there for a proper celebration. I guy only turns 50 once in his life.

This thread needed a bump.

I made a couple more reservations for some of my amigos and there are still spots available. Memorial Day weekend and the July 4th weekends are sold out. Please don't miss out on the fun and make your reservations soon.

If you plan on getting day passes you best show up early or make the camping reservation to insure getting in. It will cost $4 more doing that but it guarantees you entry.

60 days to go. It's coming fast!

Rick, I asked John if he was going today. He said he wasn't sure but put it on his calendar. He sounded interested and excited about it, so hopefully he'll go. You'll have to call and bug him about it in a couple weeks.

FYI:

Camping passes for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) are $10/night plus an $8 processing fee if you reserve through http://www.reserveamerica.com. $28 total for both nights.

If you're camping it's a no-brainer. Pay for both nights and you're done. If you're not planning on camping it's still a good idea as the beach gets busy in summer and sometimes they won't let you on the sand if you don't have an overnight pass. I have an annual day pass and have been turned away on busy weekends and told to come back later as they were at capacity.

Even if you're not getting there until Saturday, it might be a good idea to get a Friday night camping pass if you plan on showing up before the 2pm check-in time. Whether or not they'll let you on early is a toss-up.

Should we start planning the BBQ and make a list of who's bringing what?

Amber and I intend on bringing plenty of tri tips and a few pork loins for feeding the hungry masses. We could use an extra grill if someone can bring one.

Hopefully, with much assistance, Steve will be able to handle the beans. Ha Ha.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Will can attend and can bring his awesome mac and cheese again.

Other than that please feel free to chime in with what you plan to bring to avoid duplicate items.

A heads up...

There is now a flashing sign at the beach entrances saying flags are required on ALL vehicles east of the camp line (on the dunes).

I'm in too, Just made overnight resi's for Friday the 9th and Saturday the 10th. The wife and I are going to tent it on the beach- are you staging up or staking off some space at a specific location or mile marker.

I can bring some posts and caution tape to spike out some space..........
