greaslife wrote:Toney. I called BLM last year when planing this trip. They told me the only thing you need a permit for is camping at a designated and maintained BLM camp sight. BLM couldn't find anything for the number of vehicle in a group. They did suggest running grips of 4 and not a train out of curtsey for others on the trail. The BLM office you talk too would be in Barstow.
As of now I don't think I'm going but it could change.
Gents,
I've got this all covered... it's run by the National Park Service (It's called a National Preserve, has more "liberal" use rules) and we are required to have a permit. Permit application is ready to go... I just need some additional details that will fall out as planning progressing. I've already talked with the district manager and this is a no-brainer... the reason for the permit is to make sure we all are aware of the Preserve rules and they know where we plan to go. That's about it... easy... peasy.

As a side note, Randy is correct, the requirement for a permit is 7-vehicles or 15-participants... so we're already over that... Plus, during the prerun, I'm going into the district office for a face-to-face with the manager to make sure we don't get any surprises...

This is so awesome... Can't wait guys! I can't believe we have this much interest this early... you guys all ROCK! I love this group of folks... the common love of the dirt, dust, our steeds and camaraderie. It doesn't get any better than this...

One thing to remember, you rarely regret those things you do, but often regreat those you don't...

Don't let life pass you by, jump in when the opportunity is there and ENJOY...

Quick refresher.. The dates still the same?.. Oct 11-13?.. Bronco been sitting a lot but can't complain work is good right now. Still has the same dirt on dash from meet and greet Barstow run. I know, pretty pathetic .. Would love to make this trip!.. Always wanted to do this run also..

I don't think anyone will need to recon the Mojave trail.

I wasn't really referring to the road itself. But more on the time line (schedule) and camping spot.

Rod, where the hell are you??? Can't do this with out you! Logistics are easy too. Rental at the airport and your good to go!
I'm only a tentative maybe for this at the moment. Mick will come IF I can afford the trip. I wont know for sure until after June, but put me down for a maybe +1 :D

Ok, I've talked to the folks at Autofab and we have all interested, so it'll be Tiff and Courtney, John and I believe Ryan is interested. So, that's three additional trucks and 4 folks.

The group grows larger! :D Nice.
